Universities worldwide do not yet have a forex or currency trading degree though they may review currency trading and Geo-impact as part of the Economics curriculum.
The great thing about forex trading is that anyone can go for it provided they are willing to put in the grunt work..so if you are looking to get started in Fx trading, start with a demo and review the online materials on it.

I'm sure that the degree only displays certain qualities of the holder, and their relative interest at the time (and maybe also now). Forex does seem exotic to the average individual, but I see a degree of similarity (and likely interest) with people who choose to go towards banking or finance.

However I firmly believe success in forex can happen to any individual, regardless of degree.

you dont need a degree of any kind to trade, im my opinion the are actually worthless/useless (in this activity) and can/will work against you!!

Grasp the basic of reading a freaking price candle, basic logic to money/risk, have some discipline to practice until you get it and be consistent, thats all you need to make some money..

EDIT: to be clear.. "degrees" are not worthless BUT in this activity the "smart" people tend t be not smart at all because they overcomplicate everything they see, they just can grasp the basic concepts and think that it just can NOT be that easy, it has to be something else behind !! thats why the fail in the end

No degree as such is required. Strong analytical skills, observational mind and good knowledge about trading are important.

I agree. People with any kind of background can learn to trade as long as they have the aptitude for it.

This! I do not think you need degree for learning/starting with forex. Even on unrelated field can also learn how to do trading.

Certain character qualities are beneficial - being organized, having an analytical mind, being disciplined, etc. but those are not a product of a certain degree. They can be cultivated, even if one is not born with them, regardless of the education a person has.

No degree is required, but certainly smart work is required. Anyone can be a trader.

That was my point exactly. One either has the qualities required to be a good trader, or they develop them, or they don't trade. The educational background doesn't matter.

A degree in Finance/ Economics might come handy, it is not a prerequisite though. The advantage is that you can be from any field or work anywhere. However basic knowledge of economics is recommended to understand the monetary/fiscal policys, demand and supply and specifics of technical and fundamental analysis. All this material is available on the internet. Many brokers even provide free educational materials for traders devided into levels based on your trading experience. Also various useful strategies are available approved by the professionals in the Forex Guidebook on FBS site. Forex factory, Baby Pips are also a good source with interesting material.

In trading, it is as important to understand how people think as it is to understand economics. That being said - Psychology.
