Unfortunately haven't had much time this week to test the system. Hopefully will do it next week. For those that have used it on live accounts - how many pips have you captured since you've started?

We should be trading this chart, we definitely know where its going, unfortunately.. I have been self isolating for nearly 3 weeks, now they say we can't go out and no tests available. I'm not surprised I'm going crazy.

Hi Dave.

Unfortunately I don't track USDJPY, so my comment on it may not be good. I did apply a chart, belatedly, this morning and note that FXMax has or is turning bearish. I also like to look at higher TFs to get a sort of road map, so Here is an H4 chart. Notice that the chaos indi is also not showing support yet. This makes me think that this pair probably still has some way down to travel.

That's a difficult one. If chaos is forming at the bands, (white square), then I think you could consider that as a trigger. If price far exceeds the bands, then probably wait for the arrow. I think the best thing is of course a strong trend and trading in that direction. Study what the indicators do for different instruments. Each instrument has it's own character and the indis match better for some than others on different time frames. But your Holy Grail is a strong trend.

AUDUSD is a buy for me. I don't follow NZD, but I would imagine it follows the AUD closely. What is interesting about your charts is that FXMax is red, whereas for me it's green. Do you know why this is?

It is trend. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you very much about this indicator. I don't have an .mql version of it which I could give to a programmer to analyse. Pity. So all my knowledge of it is just from observation. It paints according to H4 and when it does it paints one bar back, so the first appearance of it is always two bars. It doesn't repaint, but can change during the H4 period.

Click on:

File
>Open Data Folder
>>MQL4
>>>Indicators

Put the indicator files, (.ex4 files), in that folder.

Click on:
File
>Open Data Folder
>>Templates

Put the template file, (.tpl file), in that folder.

Now close your MT4 program and re open it.

Go to:
Charts
>Templates

and choose the template.

Hi Precizione. This question you will have to answer for yourself I'm afraid. Test on demo and get comfortable with it first.

Hi Giapel.

It can re-paint, especially on lower TFs. But remember that if you are well placed outside the channel this will not be a problem. It will just help you to trigger your trade. Before trigger a trade I often go up one TF and then back to check the current status. I'll maybe write a bit more about how I feel about the re-paint issue later.
Re-paint of indicators

Whilst thinking about how to tackle this I've kind of decided not to get into it to deeply.

I am probably one of the very few traders that doesn't mind re-paint indicators. I do mind about the reasons why they re-paint though. Basically put; the only real difference between non re-painting indicators and re-painting indicators is that the re-painting indicator cannot be back tested.

Both will give a signal that would cause you to make a decision.

Indicators are tools.

Indicators cannot predict the future.

If you use your tools with a method they can benefit your decision making.

A hammer can be used to break into a house and also to build a house.

I'm with you on repainting. If its reasonably stable for 2-3 bars thats ok. Anything longer is history anyhow. Weighted values will always give different results over time, that's their methodology. Even fractals require a number of bars either side. Nothing is perfect, if it was we wouldn't be trading.
