Hi guys, Please excuse my English or my way of wording, English is not my first language. Interesting thread, I've ran PaulDV's EA for some backtesting (thanks Paul and others for your work). Apparently the EA works very well since the virus stepped in, but any backtest before that gives mixed results. I'm not saying you guys should, but I will put in some real money and run this EA for a while for some gains. My feeling is this system will be very short lived. Otherwise, I think this could work to place pending orders and for those that...

I have tried your latest EA version 1.03, and I am still having problems with the Breakeven. Whether it be BE method of 'pips profit' or 'Factor of SL', whenever the BE is hit on the strategy tester, it will 'close at stop' and stop backtesting.
Also, I must admit I don't really understand how the BE works. Is it different from a trailing stop? Please help.

For now, simply set the "lock in pips" value to something othr than zero and it should work OK.
Break even and trailing stop ae two different things. but they can be used together.
Break even, is where you move the stop to your entry point (thus breaking even) when the price is a certain amount in profit (either in fixed pip value or a factor of the initial stop loss). You can slo tell it to lock in profit by specifying how many pips profit to move the stop loss to.
Trailing stop does exactly what it say: the stop loss is moved periodically to follow the price each time the price moves a certain amount ahead. There are numerous ways of moving the stop, and my EA provides a few of them. There's no right or wrong setting really, it's simply up to you as to how you want your trades to be managed.
