I am keen like a machine for next week. Opened a Demo account linked to ForexFactory as well. My disruptive travels to the USA cost me dearly this week as I did not trade the system (I have been trading live). I should have..could have if I put a little more effort in. Will not let this happen again.

My second trade using the script failed, does it mean the script is bad, no, the scripts’ entries where great but the management of the trades by me was wrong.

I could have move the SL to secure some pips in all winning trades and let the other trades run freely until Friday or risked been stopped out by a reversal, whichever happens could had ended profitably, lesson learned.

Is there any way to adjust the script to secure some profits without human intervention? If this is doable, all weeks’ trading will end positively.
Or I may knock off all SL and allow the trades to go on, more analysis is needed and suggestions from you guys will be great

How about to use some kind of safe SL:
If price reverse and CLOSE above 50% (sl) line, only then order will be closed at sl.
This will cut off news spikes, etc. But there are some risk of getting big loss. Need your opinions

ps: this method Should be used in opening orders too. BO - price closing out of the first 2 days hilo. We are using stop orders - its not correct i think.

2 orders: Agressive entry 15%, or safe entry 25%;
sl 50%. TP 130%
after TP at 80% first order closed, 2nd orders sl goes to be.
Or 1 order with trigered trailing with 50%range at the 50% range point
Its a safe trading

Your Scripts' entry is great, the main problem here is managing the trades, many coders and traders here are very knowledgeable, they all should provide us a good solution this weekend.
Meanwhile, you don't need 2000 dollars to trade this system.
One can reduce the numbers of pairs to trade, 8 or 10 most consistent winning pairs on 100 dollars is not a bad idea, but how to manage the the trades is all that is needed.
Covid 19 has tripled market volatility, 2000 dollars can be wiped out easily even trading 0.01 lot size.

All positions must have SL and TP, this is the fund management. We do not know how the market will continue, it is a wild beat. You should management by fund ratio (eg 10 or 20%) don't care about market range. I use balance ratio when trade with real account

Hi SpikeHunter. Thank you for the excellent work to create statistics on this strategy. I know you do not wish to work on this further but I am hoping you will do this one thing to correct a small issue which is going to improve the results a lot.

The output does not record the week's High and Low. (Preferably this should be the Wed to Friday High or Low) For example GJ this week was a win at 50% of range but if only closed at end of Friday it is a loss and is recorded as such in the csv at the moment.
Could you add these Highs and Lows please?

MoTuBo_EA Version 1.02

Having used the EA for all of my trades this past week, and based on feedback from others, I have made some small amendments to my EA, and recommend that anyone using previous versions upgrade to this version.

Changes:

  1. Removed the option of entering a trade on the break and CLOSE of a candle above the signal line. It turned out that this actually caused 3 losses which would have been wins!
  2. When adding the EA to a chart after Tuesday, it would immediately open a trade if the price was beyond the signal line. This has been fixed.
  3. Added a trigger factor for the Moving Average Trailing Stop. This is a multiplier of the stop loss. e.g. if the factor is set to 1, when the price reaches a profit of 1 x the stop loss, the trailing stop is triggered and the stop then follows the EMA line, using the period specified.

For the Moving Average trailing stop, the M30 timeframe is recommended (and you will need to set the TP Calc Method to "None").

As always, any feedback is gratefully received.

Hi guys,

Please excuse my English or my way of wording, English is not my first language.

Interesting thread, I've ran PaulDV's EA for some backtesting (thanks Paul and others for your work). Apparently the EA works very well since the virus stepped in, but any backtest before that gives mixed results. I'm not saying you guys should, but I will put in some real money and run this EA for a while for some gains. My feeling is this system will be very short lived.

Otherwise, I think this could work to place pending orders and for those that know some PA should cancel those orders that don't fit and then manage the trades as they develop according to the PA.

Just my 2 cents.

I was asking a while back (in the EURJPY M15 system 80%+ forum) to have one of the EA there modified so that it only opened a trade when it closed outside the box. I wanted it to only open though when the candle closed a certain (not to large) level above or below the box. Maybe that's why some of your previous trades didn't work (I think the thinking was it should only be traded if the close wasn't to far outside the box high or low). Would be great if you could keep it in as an option and with a setting to only open at a close within a max level above or below the box range. Anyway..great job on this here and when i get a chance will try it out. Thanks

Thats right. Something like no more then 40%-50% from the box line is ok for closing triger

I had $235 profit with .01 lot, 28 pairs and Gold were set for orders.
At one point of time on Wednesdaky the profit was around $345.
Some pairs closed manually on giving good profit.

really thanks for the ea, before i tried to backtest and i nopticed that if you put no tp, the ea never closes positions, is it possible to add thie option to close on friday? so every week we could have an opportunity. i saw that your screens have towo tp, but i can't figure it out how to add other tps, because having a rr 1/1 is a bit short for this kind of system and if i put rr 1/2 then it doesn't close the position on friday but it awaits till the price reaches or the sl or the tp. then an other thing is: i can't understand how the be works, sorry… cause when i put be at sl factor 1, well it actually doesn't and closes all the position in few pips profit. thanks man for everything and sorry for being such annoying, maybe this things could improve better all the system
