fibs or pivots

So tell me what you guys use and your thoughts on them...

It's simple, really. Most traders use the Fibs retroactively. I have found the universal fractal framework, which is based on Fibonacci, that the currencies move by. Pivot points line up with it. You can put a daily on a small fractal, and a weekly on a big one. Same information. Many other trend lines, calculations etc that people use traditionally also are confirmaed by this framework. Until you know it's there, you will look for all sorts of complicated methods to try to find out where the currencies are likely to move to, but I like simple.

I Like the vegas method for using Fibs to set T/P levels.

I also use a combination of both. A lot of the time you do find that the pivots and fib retracement levels coincide.......I've found that recently I've done the best trading to date just trading using pivots, basic trend lines, fib retracements, and of course regular Support and Resistance. Using current price action does a wonder. I've had the money management and psychology part of the game down pretty well, along with discipline, I've just been looking for a good trading system to work around. Letting price tell you where the trend is going makes trading a lot easier to me.Now I average trades with a 3:1-5:1 on average risk/reward ratio usually just trading between support and resistance levels.

I'm aware of fib retracement levels but I don't use them specifically to trade.

pivot and fibs both work well as confirmation price action indicators second to trendlines and SRs.
