Hi,
i will share my current project here with all of you. I'm hoping to get some feedback and good hints to bring this further.

I'm sick an tired from the MT4 and MT5 differences and the boring look of them. Also i want to use all the benefits of the awesome tradingview site. So i started this to build an app that hides MT and MQL stuff from the user. At the End this should be an Electron Application that runs on the desktop as native Application, so no webserver needed there.

You can see the progress here:

Step 1: Terminals can connect to the App and share informations in realtime.

Step 2: Terminal sharing their symbols/pairs with the App and it can be show via tradingview tools.

Looks like i developing that tool only for my own use.

The problem is people are interested in those mt4/5 eas, indicators and scripts. Or nowadays supposedly most people trade off of mobile devices (!).. Tradingview might look more modern but it is no match for mt5, as mt5 uses a more all-purpose programming language and is far more speedy, can use gpus etc. Basically there is nothing you cannot do with it. Anyway, congrats on your project.

The mobile applications from metatrader doesn't supporting own indicators, so this will be not an argument. Since you don't have professional trademanagers on mobile apps i don't see any professional usecase to trade on mobile apps (beside you have to do some urgent interventions and no trading desktop in reach).

Sure you have some cool new tools with MT5 but when you look here at the forum nobody is using them and the most users stick at MT4 and the old language features. Next question is what will you do with the gained speed? HFT with MT5, no chance, so there are no real business cases for it.

And of course you are able to write own indicators with that tool. This is a codesnippet for SMA (same complexity like a MQL4 or MQL5 implementation):

I would hold the bet that here at the forum is no indicator that can't transformed into the PineJS world.

The project uses all the new fancy features from the web/data science development world. The development power behind those tools is factors higher than the small team of MT. To participate they opened MT5 for Python and C.

This is a curiosity in itself, indeed; (as) it is precisely the custom stuff that has made the mt4 so popular.
However, I meant something else: According to my broker most of its clients (i.e. asians) preferably use mobiles to trade off of. Developing for the desktop is becoming less and less attractive.
Another curiosity to me is that of all things python is so popular in science development (i.e. AI).
Nevertheless mgl5 is basically c++ and thus low-level, and again, use-case is vast.
I know nothing about TV but I think it would not be low-level enough for me. It is good for certain trading styles for sure, but less for other. Anyway, I too use my own terminal (all custom everything, c++), which connects to mt4/5 on a very low level (win api)..
Just another question: What program do you use for recording the YT videos?

I can't see any benefit from the TradingView site. What benefits do you see there?
