I live in the Netherlands.
Its clear that 10 to 20 times more people are sick then officially reported.
Because its not the first thing on your mind to report it when you are sick and because its spread enough that no tests are done anymore.
So the official numbers are way off.

I calculated here one out of every 240 people is infected here.
Taking in account the incubation time.
The only way to counter this is a lock down but the politicians here are as retarded as trump.
Schools stay open here. The maximum group size is 100 people. nuts.
I suspect everyone in the Netherlands has been in contact with the virus.
You get sick if your resistance can't handle the amount of virus you get in.

Yeah they are just saying f-it. Kill off the old and weak population. If this thing ever mutates to a stronger version. We are all in trouble. But that's what nature does. The virus is no different. The virus that survives the treatments we throw at it. Becomes stronger and immune to those treatments. But unlike humans, a virus can do mutate much quicker. This particular version attacks the old and children seem to fair well. What happens when it evolves to kill children or middle age people? They should throw the kitchen sink at this shit. I hear people down playing this, "it only kills 2%". I some point that 2% will be you. Or someone you love.

The overall death rate is 2.71%. That's when all cases confirmed are included. Feeling lucky? We all know 100 people. 2.7 of them may not survive. It's not a good experience for the other 10% that, will require medical assistance. If you ever had pneumonia you can attest to that. If you ever had pneumonia your more susceptible to get it again. Some of those older people are in good shape. If you have diabetes, kidney problems, smoker or a heart condition. You are in the same boat as older people. If you get in a life threatening auto accident or have a heart attack. While your local hospital is overwhelmed with corona patients. Your in the same boat. If not, maybe someone you love is in that boat.

Again I don't want to sound heartless and completely agree with the sentiment but there's a few problems we have financially so you have to pick your poison. If he shuts down the economy 100% will go to more shit than the current plan surely?

If the country shuts down, stock market plummets, how many people end up hungry, desperate, job lost, evicted or mortgage lost, crime goes up etc. How do businesses cope with the paid leave etc etc. Trump won't let the markets falter too much until its beyond his control (if there's such a thing looking at the shanghai composite).

Uk introduced some no short selling Friday, trump bought all the spare oil for a couple of months to find a decent resolution for prices(imo) (presumably around the 40-75 range).

I say all this with the rider I told my old folks to stock up on wine, beer, fill the freezer and buy a few hundred cans of food because the gov will NOT help you. You must help yourself.

You could argue this corona shake down was exactly the selloff the market needed to continue a bull run? as you can see my view is buy, totally respect the other side of the coin and if not for the above obviously I would be pummelling the sell button too in an unrigged true market.

How does this work? Someone gets sick they go to hospital, if lockdown, no emergency support. Your house burns down and no one there on other end of phone to help. Electric goes down, your freezer full of food rots. You can't cherry pick what you fancy on a lockdown.

There's no magic bullet here. You eat food, how do you think that food is processed? A total shutdown is impossible as the uk chief medical adviser pointed out it would require a 13 week period tp make a serious impact and simply could flare up again so I fail to see how Trump, BJ, etc are completely retarded. They are balancing a real shit scenario and I'm glad I'm not the one making the decisions.

I presume your standpoint is like mine then and you have plenty in the bank to keep on buying food and paying the bills, none of my contractors can afford your perfect scenario, and they are supporting families. 13 weeks would see them out of their home with their kids on the street and a potential flare up again anyway.

Are you old and at retirement or retired? There's more than one standpoint for this, the sad truth is the logical financial move appears to be let it run its course and hope we come up with a vaccine fast.

And the doctor in the video below explains that around 50% of world population will certainly get it and that mortality rate should go to around 1%
