Has anyone been using FP Markets on the long term? I am trading with them for the last couple of months with a medium size account and they seem to be good. I am planning to deposit a bigger amount with them.
So in addition to the online reviews, I was hoping to get a discussion going about them.

Long term- If you are thinking about reliability, i don't think you will have to worry much as they have been around for 15 years and ASIC is quite uncompromising.

I moved some of my accounts to FP Markets recently(account size in higher end 5 digits) and things have been quite smooth as of now.

No issues with Depositing or Withdrawing

I agree with Jlrobert FP Market for a long term is a perfect choice of broker.

Currently, brokers are losing much liquidity. especially Asian session should consider opening orders

I don't think the MT5 for FP Markets is going to be different from any other brokers. As Metatrader 4 or 5 is standard across all brokers and is owned by MetaQuotes.

However i think most traders still use MT4 (Including me) mainly because i have some custom tools that i got done for MT4. If you are not specific about this, i am sure MT5 is better than MT4 in a lot

The only difference specific to brokers with these platforms would be availability of additional tools, for instance i use some of the tools from here that FP Markets offers to their live clients for free https://www.fpmarkets.com/tools/traders-toolbox Apart from these the platforms are pretty standard across brokers.

OP you need to read my thread: https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=987254

If you have enough capital don't bother with FP crap.

Like I mentioned in my original post, i am already trading with FP Markets with a medium sized account for the last few months. The overall experience with them has been good, i have also withdrawn couple of times with no issues. I just wanted to get feedback from other traders before trying and pump in more money.
Personally, I don't really mind if my order is routed through their A-book or B-book as long as the trading conditions are the same. Most brokers like you mentioned in you list follow the same model I believe, ignoring the shitty ones that offer deposit bonus.

Big names like Lmax are not really for all retail traders considering their minimum requirements and cost.
So out of the available options for the retail broker that offer decent trading conditions, i would want a broker that is reliable. Considering FP Markets have been in business for almost 15 years now, i think we don't really need to worry about that aspect.

My review: very poor support, it took me 3 hours to find out the inability to open an account in the euro currency ...
You can’t open an account in euros, with a good broker this is impossible!

Strange, i think this is because you are from a country that they are not able to onboard on their Australian entity.
I have a couple of friends who are from UK and they have a EURO account with FP Markets under their ASIC license.

From what i know, IC have got into issue with ASIC for this very reason. Trying to on-board clients from countries that ASIC doesn't approve of (In addition to falsely advertising as ECN previously). They are under scrutiny from ASIC currently and things can get ugly for them, they are eventually going to move these countries to their off shore license.

This is one of the main reason i moved my accounts. FP Markets are pretty compliant from the beginning and probably don't want to risk their business taking risks like IC do.
