No it will be ok, the ea runs on Wednesday it uses day of week value. I think I will take it out. Its just a hangover from the ea I used to build this one. Our daylight change is the end of the month.

My broker is Forex.com, which is GMT-0. so there is a two-hour Sunday candle. Will this confuse the EA?

Thats the same as mine. I sincerely hope not. Its an interesting question and I think we need to find out what the OP originally said. Was it Mon/Tues analysis from USA or UK or somewhere else. What difference does it make, any or none? I honestly don't know. It may mean we get different results from those using this system. Looks like the OP is Canadian based. The pairs are predominately GBP. I guess UK start is the best so GMT would be a good shout.

I think this method should be traded as a "basket" or "notabasket" as Erebus puts it. Either way, I think if we trade a number of pairs and set individual TP's and SL's on each just as we are now, but also have an overall TP% for the "notabasket" If any pair hit's their individual TP and the overall % has not reached our set TP% then we let all the pairs remain open.....but once the overall basket reaches our set TP% or SL% then we close everything at once. If you wanted I guess you could close all of them except for the strongest trending pair or one that you feel you can get more profit out of, but in the long run I think doing this might bite you in the butt. Setting a TP% for the week imo is the way to go. Really no need to be going for +50% profit from 28 pairs each week.....2.5%/week overall is plenty!

Certainly looking forward to a “not-a-basket” trades in action

What your saying is, there could be a runaway trade on Wednesday, makes 2.5%, close all trades, ignore any further entries on Thursday and Friday, sit back and read reports of people making 40% or more...

Hands up everybody that’s happy with doing that

Exactly! I can understand if your account is small to be more aggressive but as the account gets bigger you will be satisfied with 10%/month. You can always choose 1 or 2 pairs if you really like the PA, Strong/Weak of the pair......obv MM is up to the trader.

You must have seen at least one situation where it prevented a loss, or is it pure conjecture from other methods?

For example, if price is in a down trend, last week was a successful short trade, this week is another successful short trade, was a trend filter useful in this situation?

Another example, if price is in a down trend, last week was a successful short trade, this week there is long entry on the chart, do we ignore this signal? Price continues to rise and it would have been a successful long trade; how was a trend filter useful in this situation?

I’m not making this up, check the chart for GBPUSD, or I can post it if you can’t see it.

People are making all these suggestions without any supporting evidence, without any actual examples; just saying a trend filter MIGHT help, and everyone gets excited like all the other threads, oh yeah, we need an INDICATOR

The only thing you need is a couple of lines. That's it. How they manage the trade/s is up to the trader.

Fortunately for me I have my own strength indicator and calculates the rate of change which virtually eliminates all sideways movement. I don't need to provide evidence it is well known that trading with the trend is the more successful way. My other systems improved in performance overnight with this change. I will probably add it as an option in the ea and make it configurable.

You just proved my point, when trading with the trend, using only the price as the entry method, with this system, there is success

But nobody needed a FILTER to help them

You never answered my questions, only changed the topic to strength indicator and rate of change, plus more unsubstantiated claims of improved performance

I think that if the market doesn't go over 240p.
Up to 100p a partial with a BE of 50% ou 1.618 can be used and an objective at 100%.
