Looks like target being reached early...post this to show the power of the 90 offset...use it all the time as a potential entry....up about 45 pips so far...in a very thin market due to Bank Holiday

Something traders may want to consider if they want more precise angles is to use a square screen. I recently resurrected an old Sony Vaio 15 “ and found the angles are much more precise than my 17 wide Acer......just a thought to consider

This is really great info. I'm just thinking how to codify this into a trading system. Doing something similar the hard part was 'spikes' that violated the lines.. it was for breakouts. Any programmers have tackled this?

agree... stretching is good...not necessarily screen images.

Welcome.....I would think coding would be quite impossible. The thing is you already possess code, your brain power. This style of trading is not the easy way...it is the accurate way or the precision way to find great entries. It means we have to draw some lines, some angles, calculate sup/res, determine cycles, gauge price action before we ever attempt to pull the trigger......but when we do it is done with confidence, not blind luck. This all takes work, but is it worth it...you bet it is!

IMHO you can't really codified the various systems showed on this thread.

As Swede emphasized there is no real substitute to your brain.

If I had coding abilities I will use alarms and would try to generate operative statistics

As the session ends, closed at the BRN 1.30000 as it couldnt break through...will happen later in the week I think...but anyway +44 and the runner +41 so no complaints

No reason you couldn't do the analysis from the first one...but to me this first impulse was 43 pips, the retrace was 37 pips which cancelled the first move....the next move up was strong right up to the top with only a minor retrace along the way....so to me this was the dominant impulse wave...

@BlackStack here is the previous analysis (blue) note how the 45 offset touch held the price for the eventual short....may still be in play depending news tonight. Where you start drawing from is discretionary really, but start this way and you will eventually see a pattern emerge..and note the red box levels...how it proved to be the ultimate stopping point of the rally.(circles)..those are derived by taking the last major swing high to low and dividing by 8....really works well in currency

a) the division by 8 of the Price Range between a real top and a real low was one of the first tool used by Gann

b) you can use whatever platform you want, this platform will approximate very closely this Gann Tool.

Because whatever the financial support, whatever the Timeframe you use your platform will automatically adapt its Price Scaling to the Range between the Highest High and the Lowest Low visible on your screen.

The reason is that there is no other way to generate an operative, effective, efficient scaling.

Swede Chart is a typical example.

Agree...my octaves are drawn from a previous swing high low.....the offset angles I use the nearest swing...but that is just me...another way to do it is shown below, use your circle tool to make up a measured move tool....the distance from the swing high to the swing low time...is measured...take that tool and move it to the low and see how accurate the move up was, and the subsequent moved and the retraces...

and using the above of a measured move I took 2 entrties and closed for a quick scalp +14 +9 based on the news spike...more south expected but im out for now

Thanks for pointing out the 8 levels in red. I hadn't noticed that. Seems like 8 is an important number in the universe. There is the E8 theory of everything, which is very interesting.
