To make it clearer, I'd add this one more. In technical analysis, the concept of trend is inextricably linked to support and resistance levels. All types of trends are displayed on currency pair charts as a price channel limited by technical lines, which are commonly referred to as trend lines. An uptrend in the chart is constructed by drawing a support line through successive rising lows. Then the obtained line is copied in parallel on price highs, acting as a resistance line. A downtrend is constructed by drawing a resistance line through successively falling highs. Then the obtained line is copied in parallel on price lows, acting as a support line.
