You need to go initially go through seller9's videos, you need to start with a clean MT4 without all the other experts and indicators you have running. The S9_DB has to be the only expert there. Please do your homework....

Well, i guess if the video would have advised all necessary heads up, I would not have such challenges here.

For example, by following what you suggest, I have deleted all of experts & indicators, all though they were all from seller9, and leave only the Currency trader's package content, and I will give a try again.

The CT DashBoard is a stand alone commercial package and not part of the S9_ToolBox_DashBoard and S9...TS system of which S9_VWAP_TS is part of. The videos I'm talking about discuss the S9_ToolBox_DashBoard that you can find on seller9's site here http://seller9.net/ and follow the links to the "Free Software" and "Free Software Videos".

PS: Rather than delete everything in your terminal, just create a new MT4 Terminal and create a new Demo Broker account to test it on.

I have no problem putting the toolbox on my TradersWay MT4, but when I put it on my PurpleTrading MT4, the EA happy:-)face shows up on the upper right for a few seconds and then goes away. I've forced history and I can't figure out where I've goofed up. Maybe because markets are closed and there's no data coming in?
The suffix is set to: _ecn on the PurpleTrading MT4.
As you can see, she works fine on the TradersWay MT4.

Do you have data for all your 28 pairs? Also you might have to wait for the markets to open before you can start up a new terminal on a different broker, some of my brokers don't provide data over the weekend, try again on Monday after market startup.

Everything has been covered in the videos and at this Blog, there are no short cuts to trading Forex, you must take the time, if you don't have the time Forex is not the place to be.

Don't put any of the DB EAs on gold or silver charts as you will not be able to trade any lot size or step less than .1 lot.

Use USDTRY or EURTRY for your DB chart.

Also on the weekend if you are installing the DB for the first time you may get a black screen as the Broker may not be providing any data.

All DBs are experts and go in the experts folder and all TSs are indicators and go in the indicator folder.

Thanks for the tip on gold and silver charts, I did not notice the minimum there as I normally trade 0.1 lots on my Demo accounts. I will change my DB Gold/silver charts over to EURTRY to make sure I don't have issues when I start changing lot sizes.

PS: Not all Brokers have the minimum lot of 0.1 on gold and silver, for example Pepperstone has 0.01 on gold and silver. I will still change over to EURTRY just in case.

hi All, and happy new year (almost) and happy Christmas past. Was jumping on to set up for the week and thought of something. When using NrmL and the spread is wide will it effect the lot size? From what i have watched (only today for a few min) it is really not that effected, just curious. Also not trading during high spreads so really it doesn't matter, but still want to know

Great question! Let it be a reminder to all here in the tribe that with some brokers, the spreads go from one or two pips per pair to an astounding 15 or 20 pips spread per pair after the NY close. No, that's not a typo. So, if you have a rather tight stop and let your position ride after the New-York close, hoping for something good to happen three hours later when Japan opens, be advised: Spreads can widen and immediately close you out at an expensive cost. The same is true for using trailing stops during volatile times.

Happy New Year, the short term spread swings should not affect the Normalized Lot size (NrmL) too much, as the Normalization is calculated from the longer term Daily ADR.

PS: BTW the Max_Spread (normally set to 2 to 4) will filter out any trades with big spreads happening.

I am using Purple Trading (I chose ECN instead of STP) as a broker for the $100,000 FTMO paid challenge (which cost me $610). There ain't no USDTRY in Purple, at least not in the ECN bundle. You can get USDTRY to come up on a chart just to look at it, but you can't trade it. Maybe there's some poli-religio antipathy still in the air. For that same reason you will never see brand name salt and pepper sold together in a store. Only the black and white plastic generics are bundled together at dollar stores and such. So, I put the S9 Dashboard v15 on the USDSEK (us dollar / swedish kronor). Them swedes never sleep, so I figure they're trading all day & night, to accommodate their drinking schedule.

This why I like to use "One n Done" and to not start new trades in the 4hr block from 1 or 2 hours prior to NY close until at least 1 hr after Asian Start. Spreads can also widen excessively during big news events, so you need to choose pair SL/TSL 's carefully, if you are using them, during these events (I just try to avoid trading on these days).

The pair you use for DB chart only needs to be not one of the 28 traded in the DB. Best pairs to use are the more active ones on your Broker that trade 24/5, that is why USDTRY is normally a good choice.

That's what I figured. I got that from the videos and blog months ago, but somewhere in there was mention of using the gold-dollar. I was already aware of the .1, no .01 limitation w/ most brokers.

By the way, I asked about this field in the basket creator months ago but never got an answer:
Use_Only_Close_To_Create_Basket. What does this mean? It's fulfilled with a Yes/No selection.

HI Gene

Got this weird aberration.
Was running a Dual RSI strategy on all 28 using:

DB RSI (240,2,5,51,19,F,F,T) as a directional filter and
BT TS as short term RSI(T,15,2,5,90,10,T) entry and exit signal


and all 27 of the 28 FS pairs behaved well and signaled where they should have but USDJPY went crazy and signaled a lot of strange small trades

dont know why it was taken.

30Min RSI was not near the 90 level

Looks to me like you told it to take a short when RSI was 10 or below.

Instead of using the H/L/O/C to create a chart it only uses the Close for all these values.

When you open the offline chart it will be just be dots so you open it as a line chart.

All you will then see is a line chart made up of just closing prices, no high or low wicks.
