This post should provide guidance in consideration of Prop Funds or Trader Financing.

Cost is not the only factor and in most cases is the least important factor while the most important caution of prop funds is how much they promise to pay in compensation. The institutional market pays traders between 25 and 30% of revenue. Retail market does not provide significant benefit to substantiate paying more than 50% considering the fund absorbs ALL the risk. Firms that promise to pay you more than this are MORE interested in the subscription revenue from your wallets than you trading their capital. Which is then why we come to the crucial analysis of determining if they are a valid source of capital for your funded trading accounts.

Performance Statistics and Requirements

If the objective is profit. Burdening the trader with metrics that are nearly impossible to achieve are only formed to create the 'firewall' to not actually funding a trader. If the asset used to fund the account is capital, the cost is 'opportunity cost'. If it's credit, then the funding itself is paid for by the subscription which gives access to the capital. ClearStreamFX only requires a minimum trade frequency and a NET Profit after 60 Days to qualify for compensation.

Live Vs. Demo or Simulated Accounts

If your Prop Fund provides you a Demo or Simulated Account during qualification. Drop Them, they are not qualified internally to provide you the tools to prove yourself thoroughly with live trading of other peoples money. You need to have the experience of trading in a live environment and a demo account is not a professionals method of choice. ClearStreamFX ONLY provides LIVE accounts for qualification phase. Leverage Limitations

Prop Funds may start traders on demo or live but the telling sign of intent is how much leverage is permitted on live accounts. Again, if the objective is profit and a traders performance metrics are proof positive of quality trading then limitations on credit only serve the purpose of limiting returns which then 'disqualify' traders from compensation or make their subscription term significantly longer as the objectives are harder to reach. Risk Tolerances on Daily or Lifetime Thresholds

Without diving into multiple chapters of trade flow warehousing and A/B Book Management, Risk Tolerances from the Traders Perspective should be rather clear and objective. Reach a 4% Drawdown on any given day and your trading stops until the next day. Reach 15% Maximum Lifetime Risk and your trading is halted. At this point, most funds will require you to resubscribe and start 'fresh' with more funny munny on demo account. - Utter Garbage. When a trader reaches Max Lifetime Risk, exposure and any hedging costs are analyzed, but then again, these are real costs on real accounts. The Trader may then continue where he is by remittance of hedging costs or start fresh. Traders Choice. ClearStreamFX wants traders to profit. The costs are to cover the issuance of credit and to manage risk so the trader can do what they do best without the stresses of risk. We manage that risk!

Requirements for Minimum Profit Levels

Prop Funds requirements for profits present a conundrum for the trader. The metrics tend to be on the 100% per annum side, while risk tolerances and leverage are established to work against the trader. ClearStreamFX has NO Requirements for Profit. Just be Net Positive for a 60 Day Period.

Until now I think I've read all the trader funding options advertised on FF and anywhere else they may pop up! I've found the typical disappointments with all of them, it's one condition or the other that turns me away. After reading and re-reading this thread in case I missed any pitfalls I find that everything they say here is right on point with contrast to every other fund I've had experience with. Let's see what they have to say! CS can you give some insight into your education approach?

Hi Carl - Education - A Tough question as it's extensive in itself and may very well need a thread on it's own but I'll give you the short version. The chart's are wrong, sure the pricing is accurate as that's a given. But the charts that are available to traders on 99% of platforms are wrong from a technical aspect of not providing you market transparency. Sure you can have a series of downward candles with one up candle in the middle, but is that really an upward candle or is it just a candle that failed to synchronize with the flow of transactions when perfect timing of the minute open and close wasn't quite 'perfect'?

I've spent years as an institutional trader because i had something that most don't have. Transparency. So to give you a few tidbits to chew on, knowing the charts were wrong from a fundamental aspect, and that market transparency wasn't going to be available for my asking, I had to be engineered.

But education specifically is for most traders the ability to start fresh and forget what you know, as obviously, what most traders know at this very moment hasn't worked yet! Once you understand how the market moves, you can then keep your focus on the right hand edge of the chart with a dynamic approach. Well, you certainly seem to know your stuff, unfortunately my day job is getting in the way at the moment which is a chore/bore however you want to look at it . As soon as I can free up some time I will be in touch ! cheers Carl.

There are options, but knowing the background of those options disqualifies them from the start. Yes they promise you high payouts while they give you targets and metrics you'd need to thread a freight train through a needle. It assures them that they really don't have funding in mind, it's purely subscriptions. That's validated as well when they offer you services on 'private' platforms or through simulated accounts. I have been looking through various forums and funding services on the internet and came across this post.

Everywhere that I have looked for FX funding so far charge ridiculous fees, have at least one, often two stages of qualifying with a broker they specify, before they allow you to trade real money and I cannot see the incentive. with them and moved on. One offer 30% profit share BUT I have to be profitable for 6 months using their brokerage (Live) before I am even considered for funding...yeah right!

You seem to be offering a really good deal but I don't understand what your article means by "WE ABSORB THE RISK". ?!

Why would you take on my risk? What if I lose the money you are funding me with? If I had a bad week or even month and lost some money what happens?
Do I need a confirmed history of trading and/or need to provide a report to prove this as prop firms seem to demand this as a minimum?

I am really interested in this offer but just need clarification before I click the application.

Yes. One dollar positive as long as you have the minimum number of trades, 150 Trades @ 10/1 leverage, or 30 Trades at 50/1 Leverage However you want to mix it up.

We absorb the risk while you're in qualification and during production. It's the same account, all on a live environment. Absorbing the risk is taking the flow of order execution and warehousing it internally if it's against market directions, or if it aligns with market directions we cover risk on the open market. All of this process is fully automated based upon your individual trading performance. So we're able to keep better risk control than what most traders are able to do themselves on their own accounts.

This is how we're able to fund, and absorb risk.

To your last question. We use credit lines, the cost of the service covers the risk in 90% of situations, this is buffered by the frequency of trades in generating cash flow on the trade frequency. This allows us additional hedging for the cost of warehousing. So the subscription covers the credit issuance, the trade frequency covers the fluctuations and if you're consistently profitable that covers all the gains with external warehousing. - There - That's pretty straight forward to the point.

I don't sorry. So in simple terms, you will allow me to trade with a small amount of live money that ClearstreamFX put in a ClearstreamFX Broker MT4 account and I can trade with your tools and you have education to help me be profitable using your strategy? When I prove my trading is profitable you increase my balance?

Sorry if I sound think, I just want to make sure I understand because I think this sounds really good so long as I have understood the offer correctly.

Yes it's simple but no moving targets, those are what you'd see at prop funds that promise you 80% of the profit. (laughable at anything more than 50%) After you're profitable there are no fees as long as you maintain the volume requirement which is relatively simple. If you breach the 15% your time to qualify starts over as well does the subscription.

For Growth target, there is None. Minimum volume and net positive number is a return for us. Any positive return every 30 days is matched by us. There are a LOT of pie in the sky numbers and metrics other prop funds offer and require. Those unfortunately that offer you anything more than 50% payout are not being straight forward. We give you the best combination of risk, platform conditions, qualification requirements and goals. Without those trading becomes a chore, it's meant to be profitable. We want everyone to be trading with the best conditions. What the majority of the other firms offer is done so because they are less interested in you trading their capital than they are with the subscription to a demo account. Sad but so true.

For the same currency, if I open consecutive trades.
Example, after I open I trade. I open another trade 1 minute later. 30 seconds later, I open another trade.
All in all, I got 3 trade open now. Some prop company
Consider that as 1 trade.

If I long term, and is in the trade. Regardless win or lost trade. I definitely have to hold through holiday or weekend.
So is it a no to hold holiday,weekend trades?

We don’t permit holding through weekends or holidays unless hedged fully.

You’re building positions which is normal. Although I personally trade in positions and not individual trades per se, they are considered individual trades.

But- the volume requirement of 150 Trades a month is at 10/1 leverage. That is satisfied with any cumulative turn over. 150@10/1 75@20/1 30@50/1

individual entries at 2/1 do not count unless you have 750 of them.
