I used the v3.9.6.09 base version and it depends on your other input parameters and the FMC setting.

Why would you change the timeframe on a running EA?

Blessing is not designed to deal with such changes and whatever happens at that point is fairly random.

There is no 'normal' in that kind of abuse.

Set the timeframe before you load the EA and do not change it.

Trading with an EA is a complex process and not all possible combinations of settings and actions have been anticipated by the authors of the EA or the authors of MT4. Learn what you're doing and proceed with care.

Normally, I don't change anything after load EA including time frame as I know many EA may do something after reload/time frame change.
If I want to change time frame, I will open another graph and change on that graph to see whatever I want instead.
However, that time I accidentally changed time frame on graph that attached EA and found such case. My mistake.

If Blessing is not designed to deal with that change of time frame or if Blessing has some purpose by Author to open those orders(buy limit/stop as my case) when changing time frame, it's ok and I accept it. I just need to be more careful when using it.

Well, I will try to find which combinations of settings that make EA open those buy limit/stop but guessing it would take me days or months as it's very very complicated EA.

Blessing, like most EAs, isn't very smart. Its a collection of tricks and responses to various price actions that can sometimes produce profitable results.

When you optimize Blessing against recent history you are attempting to adapt it to find and follow repeating patterns in the market. Blessing's entries are not that great. Her exits are more complex and adaptable. If you start a well tuned Blessing at the right time it will hopefully sync up with those patterns (assuming they're still there) and start making money. Or it could get confused and take bad trades if you start it in the middle of those patterns. We have no easy way of knowing when is best to start, other than waiting for the same setup to close a trade on demo and using that as your starting time live. Or start on the weekend and hope for the best.

Shorter timeframes seem to have less problems syncing up and do so more quickly.

Blessing will often still make money, even when its out of sync. But you may have to watch trades going in the wrong direction for days before they come back into profit. Its good to be patient. Its better to be in sync. :-)

Inexperienced robot drivers that try an EA once or twice and complain about bad results have some learning to do. Winning in the market is about keeping winning probabilities on your side and to win more than you lose, but expecting to have losses. Don't be surprised if losses are the first thing you see. Relax. Don't be in a hurry. These things take time.

I know I keep mentioning shorter timeframes and suggesting better results with them. That's not true for every broker. One of my brokers simply doesn't work as well with short timeframes. And different currency pairs have different results too.

Remember: Every Forex broker has different data. They modify their data for changing spreads and probably in other ways simply because it suits them ... there is no central price authority for all brokers.

I like to optimize a single pass at each of the main timeframes from m1 to h4, using the Genetic algorithm for speed, and see which looks best.

Is there any possibility of adding news filter or stop trade timer function to this EA? This would help reduce volatile trading period so the EA would only manage the open trades.

Yes, that's normal with Blessing. Where did you download Version 12?

Yes, that seems like a good idea. Need to find a good news indicator, preferably with source code.

So you have data? Journal doesn't complain about 'no data'?
Try a higher timeframe (Period.) Often more good data in higher timeframes.
Try different pairs.
Set Spread to 30.
Try just the last month of data. Or uncheck Use date.
Check that data on a chart looks okay. Refresh and check again.
Try my _optimize-start.set file.
Close and re-open MT4.
Read this whole thread.
Yell at the screen!

Hi Richard i tried all of what you said but nothing worked... these are the only info in the diary.

I am trading live with ICMarkets using Blessing3 v3.9.6.09 ... this is the last official version I got from jtatoday. No major change in the codes except compatilility to MT4 build 600.

open a small live account and get the real price data for your testing.

Please go over my list again and check everything thoroughly.

Trading takes time. MT4 is a beast. Forex is a beast. So many things to go wrong.

It may very well become the money machine you're looking for. But you may have many things to learn first. Or much money to lose if you don't learn them.

There are lots of good tutorial videos out there too. Youtube is a gold mine. (There's lots of junk there too, though.)

If you didn't read this whole thread, like so many, then what have you missed? These things take time.

I just made 480 pips EURGBP,M5 in one grid (5 trades), today when I wasn't looking. That was a trade that wasn't looking good and I almost closed early. But I decided to walk away.

Part of trading with a robot is learning to look away ... :-)
