Hello traders
Can some one please explain to me, what is the 'volatility 75 index' and how trading it works? I have been listening many people trading it lately.

Regards

I have been searching all over for the strategies for it. I can't seem to find any. I'm planning to simply use Support and Resistance, keep it simple and be patient. It trades from Monday to Sunday

This instrument requires a very high equit and moves more than the market pairs. To trade successfully you must obey the trend.

Volatility indexes

Short when uncertainty is low, economies are growing, and everyone is peachy. Long with the shit hits the fan.

It is mainly used as a hedge against uncertainty

I was in the next office to the bloke who invented the VIX when I worked in the City and he publicly said it was bullshit. The problem is people started trading the index like an instrument, which affected how it behaved, altering how it was supposed to behave.

Anyway, nobody at Man Group trades it, and their CIO invented it. Take from that what you will.

It`s a very dangerous instrument so to say, it does not respect any indicator and it moves very very fast. It is very difficult to trade with ready made mt5 indicators and if it does, it is not reliable. kind of manipulation. it bypasses overbought and oversold rules and behaves as it likes, worthless and not worth risking a dime with.

To respond to the ACTUAL question, the VIX isn't an instrument to be traded.

Simply put, if volatility is low, you sit on your hands. If volatility is high, you look for opportunities in equities or correlated assets.

It's become bullshit because banks started offering volatility as a product which meant people buying and selling it were distorting what it is supposed to do (from supply and demand), which is to indicate implied volatility in the S&P.

If you want to be one of the muppets that trades it, feel free. But it's not asset backed, and is a load of horseshite.

Vol 75 index is kind of manipulated sometimes, i have used some indicators but still failed. But it does respect support and resistance at least 35% of the time, on the daily time frame. My advice is to trade it with smaller lot sizes as it is extremely volatile and if you need a broker offering it try Binary.com.
