I thought we could share and discuss trading setups, to help fellow traders get potentially new ideas which could benefit us all,
a true win/win situation.

As a relative newbie, my setup is pretty simple......MT4 with Forex Factory/Metals Mine on the side. Rely on forums to get sentiments and monitor economic calendar as well to make sure I don't get caught with my pants down on an event. I really appreciate 4+1 thread on MM - MzansiObi does a great job of boiling down insights.

So you are mostly into XAUtrading? I got a few ideas for your setup if I may suggest?

Yes. I dedicate most of my time on XAU, but hoping to find a little more time for forex in the not-to-distant future. Would love any suggestions you have.

not full, because we still need a human error factor I do use AI part a lot because I am not "designed" to watch tick-by-tick data 24/7 I "outsourced" the emotional part of trading to AI I prefer to analyse and then set and forget (for a while), re-check later AI is of great help... In fact, I am working on some beta version where AI could trade for full 3 months without any supervision... Not fully build yet... and I'm not saying there is a formula or anything but AI can trade by certain inputs, like analysis, price prediction, and use some other daily parameters also... So yeah, pretty much HAL... but is not fully autonomous yet In fact, I had one idea, would brought a lot of money in retrospect... To make some pre-set trade direction, system... and LOCK myself out of it on some VPS/DPS... and check it within a year or have it programmed that it emails me AFTER it reaches THE NUMBER and not before... I pull-ed out too many times before... but AI could pulled this "trading the plan" off without any noise, if programmed that way

Also, you (all of you) wouldn't believe what modern algos can do... HF trading style... they READ ("understand") news, outputs, parameters... also are programmed to when to exploit certain high-volatile times and when not to trade.. I mean it is BEYOND amazing what can be done... already... But the thing is to find the RIGHT parameters to model I suspect there might be just 1-2 leading... others are for fine tuning.. But since I have no proof, let's leave at that...

Sounds interesting, lemme' follow along.
I myself been using a lot of energy of the fastest (all about speed, at least till you get under the 5-sec area) it can be done manually or semi-automatically since I got some challenges regarding a full optimation. Hence it's not a priority atm, but it's working back in my mind There is also a freedom in being also to do everything from a laptop. Then you can trade and travel the world haha Thanks for input

Yeah, might do, in time Have to earn some good cash first, so that I do not give people too much/false hope Also, years back we got some good setup when basicaly AI itself could exploit some tech issues, basically nothing to do with REAL trading as we understand it... but it was about the techs... You can guess what... It worked extremely good until one egotripper smartass started bragging and then EXP of people wanted to make the money out of it, because when you are DOUBLING DEPOSIT by the day/week... and people hear/see... the word gets out FAST (and later one FUND wanted to make/double millions per trade out of it)!. And of course brokers went to manual execution, reversing trades, manual revision (dedicated team to it) and then lifetime ban So it is hard to show the exact juice/core... But yeah, would love to share the setup, at least for some feeling how it should... But in all reality, all those systems are just for fine-tuning, additional check, confirmation, security and overall trading overview.. so that one has the real control room of the "world"... But one can, as you said it... work from LAPTOP anywhere from the world... EASILY...
All others tools are more or less for RITUAL and to of course have better overview... But if one, IF! not saying I did.. although I suspect there might be... gets the RIGHT parameters out of the markets... I suspect there might be only 1-2 controlling ones, REAL ones... (aside of some distortions at certain events, news, rates etc... - but only to basically temp effect), then one can trade from MOBILE phone even... Although I still feel at least semi-blind trading from mobile... Haven't found the optimal overview in mobile phone, but laptop is a "FOOTBALL" thing (N...) You can do anything out of it, if you have the codes.. if you know what I mean I have met, they might be fake... traders that can trade from anything... From CHART drawn in SAND or toilet paper... Of course we are talking about compounding trades... because they already have the past experience, ballpark parameters, ratios.. but for incremental/additional trades... they could "see" the market out of the curve drawn in a toilet paper

But nevertheless, my dream setup is much beyond that HAL (as a hardware setup, AI was top-notch of course.. would love to have data-center style trading.. with mainframe(s), IBM Z is porn since they also got the DESING right, yeah, important... just to have full-overview of all parameters (butterfly effects) possible.. and tracking correlations, deviations in REAL TIME... with many pre-set alarms, warnings, auto-trades, emergency shut-down and "dead-hands" enabled...

BTW If you watch(ed) BILLIONS series... I think it is very good but one episode really annoyed me... When they were hacked.. I mean what annoyed me wasn't the hack (they made a good product placement for Bloomberg terminals though.. like that they were not hacked)... but how they had pre-(not)designed emergency protocol in cases like this.. For example, having some DPS somewhere that checks for things like this and process emergency shut-down... closing trades... that could also be enabled by whatever, phone (call), sms, text, e-mail, you name it... I think BILLIONS should hire some MR ROBOT IT advisers in order to not insult the tech guys that are watching the show... But all the other (financial) things show in the Billions series... I basically haven't found an error as of yet... Aside of some later seasons politics games and character developments that were too much inspired to send the message for something... instead of focusing on REAL trading as before

If focusing on XAU/USD trading I would recommend:

I see you got your technical indicators going for you.
Consider adding more market information that correlates with the gold movement.
This could be, JPY, CHF and USD correlation, stock indices, bonds, XAG/silver(XAG correlates but more volatile, also XAU/XAG ratio for bullish or bearish signal can be used with that in mind)

Also, a trick, if you want to trade ONLY gold and not the 50% USD counterpart, then each time you make XAU/USD trade, hedge it with opposite USD forex pool.
At Investing website I sat together an example of a 'Gold Screen' I would use, see if you could catch some ideas for it, gonna be uploading this screen later and I will look into if a template could be shared.
