Just my 2c. I don't use indicators but just a warning, hopefully not necessary for you and many others, but there will people not aware of it... My understanding is that indicator, looking miraculous at a first glance, is based on an MTF chart, so it will repaint terribly. A good habit, for indi-thirsty people would be to check how it works in a live environment.

the premise shouldn’t repaint, but testing to watch what it doesn’t.

The candle, when opened, is either under or over the higher Tf rsi. If not, once the smaller TF candle closes, the design is that candle becomes static and unalterable, this phasing out repainting.

I appreciate the feedback as well, and need to test with it before creating strong conclusions.

Appreciate you for sharing the idea-Seems to be taking shape with the help from Joe. I am keenly following the work-Request from my end;please do share the posts from the Indicator Request Thread here as well so Mj and others can benefit-share their insights...Mean to say, the EA/Indicator request thread is inundated with many posts... Specific points on how to tailor the RSI strategy for Margin EA is better addressed by the members of this thread...

got more info for you here. This is not a repainting indicator. HOWEVER, when you initially load the indicator, it can only go off of past information. For that reason, each higher TF bar can only have 1 RSI, and therefore, all child candles will paint, even if they wouldn’t in real time.

that said, as long as the indicator is gathering live data, the candles would paint as they should, with no repainting. If the child bar opens inside the rsi Level, it’s neutral, and if it opens outside, it paints. This is regardless of whether the mother candle spent its entirety or only partially outside the rise levels.

I hope this this makes sense!

This is as it should work.

Note: "all child candles will not paint" - if mother candle has closed inside levels ...

Thank you for sharing with us this outstanding tool, MJ. A splendid piece of engineering.

It might need some modifications re scale adaptation though. You can see cropped and piled elements on the screenshot below. I'm using Win10 on a laptop with a 15.6" screen, 1920x1080 resolution. The scale in display settings is set to 125%. This is a default scale after Win10 was installed, this setting was not touched by me, such scale makes system's elements just normal size, nothing is increased or enlarged. 100% scale is truly uncomfortably small, 150% scale makes everything already massive.

The default value is true.
Here I put together all the useful information from everybody who was so kind to help to understand how how EA does its job. I think it's a good draft for you to use for your future planned changes for post #1.

1. EA doesn't place trades. You have to place trades with it by clicking the sell or buy buttons.

2. EA is designed to take manual or pending order.

3. Basic thing: the margin level HAS to be equal/greater than your set margin limit!
Otherwise, your position is more underwater than the margin limit you want to apply!
You can't expect the EA will add positions if the margin level is below margin limit.

4. It should only add trades while the existing trades are positive, there is no averaging down, only adding to winners.
Once your margin level has again risen to the required level, a new trade is placed.

If user's pending order (or manual order) is executed, with checked "Add automatically" EA will stack new orders as soon as you "margin level" will pass above "margin limit".

5. With "MARGIN LIMIT" user sets lot size, user can see that in menu "TRADES" as info "xxx lots available".
You don't change lot size, but you change margin level % with the green up & red down arrow buttons, lot size will be calculated automatically. The two red triangles on chart show you where you'll be stopped out in case of a long/short, depending on set margin level %.

Click on the arrows below the "MARGIN LIMIT" section.
Clicking the green arrow increases the margin limit but reduces the lot size to to be used by the EA. (I have used 1000% I think the maximum depends on the balance).
Clicking the red arrow reduces the margin limit but increases the lot size to be used by the EA. (100% seems to be the lowest).

There is a faster way to set the "MARGIN LIMIT" by moving up or down red left point triangle.

The lower margin % you set, the higher position size you will run.

Only if you check "add automatically", positions will be added to your trade IF it turns positive, keeping your margin % at set level.

If you're an ultra conservative, running weekly charts, you keep the margin level at several thousand %.
If you're trading daily charts, you're good with like 2000%-5000%, depending on actual account leverage and your risk appetite.
If you're an intraday trader like me, and using an account with 500:1 leverage, I recommend starting above 500%, then (optionally) lowering downto 200% if the trade goes against you, BUT THERE MUST BE A REASON IT WOULD STILL GO YOUR WAY!!!
If you're a mad guy who's trading tick charts and 1 min is a slow-go for you, deposit just a small amount, start around 150% and go lower down to 100%. if it goes against you decisively, be prepared to cut it, or you're dead.

6. After trade is executed user will see only one RED or GREEN line depending on if the price is above or below order, then on left mouse click move line to TP or SL, then click on TP/SL button, EA will take care of all new trades and automatically place TP and SP.

Once you open a trade, you will see a line. Drag it in front of the entry point for TP or behind it for SL. Once in place, click the relevant button which will either show TP or SL depending on where the line is. If you change your mind drag the line again and re-click the same button. As for the % you can adjust the line by looking at the % values on the panel.

7. If the "Manage only own trades?" EA parameter is "false" (default is "true") AND you have the "Add Automatically" checkbox ticked, you can set a pending order manually with normal MT4 UI, and once it gets filled, the EA will fire next orders to fill up the margin limit (only if the lotsize due to margin limit is higher than the filled pending order size) and will continue to add once the trade goes your way.
ANd if there's SL / TP set with the pending order, it will be set in the daughter trades too.

8. You can always set the level to the downside (allowing to average down if you dare this)... or you can pause auto adding by unchecking it, wait for an impulse move which you reasonably think WILL retrace (and then continue) ...after retrace you set the auto add to ON again (risk averse, since you never know if it didn't max out) OR you will keep the auto adding thing on, but you decrease the margin limit % at the retracement level to the present margin level %.

Maximal margin limit set by green arrow is 9900% (hard coded).
By moving the red triangle we can increase margin limit greater then 9900. I think this is a bug and it needs to be fixed.

We are actually not in the Trading Systems forum directory here, we are in the Platform Tech.

EA is not supposed to open trades for you, and "When to open a trade?" and "How EA works?" are two different topics.
We should see the EA as a trade manager.
Analyse your trading in your usual chart. As many pairs as you would normally do. When you find a trade set up, instead of clicking buy or sell in the normal MT4 buttons, use the MarginTrader EA as your trading clicking tool. You can close other pairs or just never take any other trade as you only trade one pair with MarginTrader EA.. With all the settings, it will manage and also compound your initial trade.

This might help...From the video description:

I will try to help: having same problem as you on MT4 strategy tester; visual is not working, it didn't show chart and EA just green line and sound when is finished.

solution; reinstall platform (doesn't help), which I try and hate so instead to reinstall you should install new MT4 on different folder (disk) with same acc No. works for me.

Here is just a normal back test and you can see it took 5 trades.
Either you can read your candles to know when you have a reversal so you can click either buy or sell button or have an indicator that can help you know a possible support or resistance.
NB
In your case make sure you select visual mode in your tester settings.
