FTMO - For serious traders

Hi, nice of you sharing this info, when you say you get 70% of profit, what time scale is there to this, is the pay out every month, every quarter, sorry for asking, however i have not seen any one ask or answer the time duration that you get paid like other prop desk.

Once a month. You can keep your 70% in the account if you want to build it but FTMO will take its 30% (of profits that month) at the end of each month.

For example, if you receive the funded account on 20 of october, they will start counting 30 days only after your 1 closed trade. For example if you do your first trade on 20 of october, then you will get every month payment split on 20. On 20 of each month you ask for profit share, and after they complete it, you get the money quick. In bank i got in 1 day, if you choose paypal or skrill, you get instant after they complete the task.
Anyway, just respect what they say and be patience and you will get all what is yours

I will be very glad if you (memeber's) share what strategy you use for passing challange and verification sucesfully because 10% a month is not easy task !?

It is not easy to do that. I have over 10 years in forex and i made my own strategy, you have to practice, you can do free trial to practice. Each trader has own style, own risk control. For example if you wanna reach 10% for 100k account, that means 10k profit, maybe a trader need 200 pips to do that, maybe other 500 pips, or 1000-2000 pips or more, it is about when each one think he can risk or not or be patience. It is not easy to learn someone how to pass those challange and verification.

6 months to get to your target and only 6 % is needed not 10 % in 1 month.

You dont understand, just first month of challange need to do 10%, then on verification - second account need to do 5% on 60 days, and then on funded account you dont jave any minimum target of profit. Even if you make 1% profit you will get your 70% from profit

After reading this thread I just have to reply because it is little painful to read some comments from other traders who complain about 10% profit target being too high to complete challenge.

You get some idea about firms funding traders.
Here is my other explanation why I think from all those companies FTMO is best option. Full disclosure - I have not used FTMO yet, but I plan to do it in a near future.

Many traders complain about 10% profit target being too high. It is actually LOWEST from all companies offering funding!!! Let me explain.
Most traders only focus on profit target but do not think about how much risk they are allowed to take to reach profit target. Most traders focus on making money. Professional traders focus on managing risk and making money is side effect of solid and sound risk management.
FTMO has 10% target with 10% risk. That gives us 1:1 reward/risk ratio.
5ers has 6% target with 4% risk. That is 1,5:1 reward/risk ratio.
Other companies have even higher reward/risk ratio. The lower reward/risk ratio, the more room you have to breath. The more room you have to breath, the easier it is to reach profit target. Ratio is what matters and not percentages. So if we ignore time needed to get funded, then 10% with FTMO is easier to reach than 6% with 5ers.

FTMO decided to use 10% target with 10% risk. They also could have decided for 4% target with 4% risk. And it would be exactly same thing/situation. Question is not how to achieve 10% but how to design risk management so I can take full advantage of 10% risk so I can reach 10% profit target in safest way.

To measure different companies you have to first make profit target equal and then see what risk is allowed. When we do that we have this.
FTMO - 6% profit target with 6% risk.
5ers - 6% profit target with 4% risk.
Now tell me where it is easier to reach 6%, with FTMO or with 5ers???

When we look at the ratio between profit target and maximum risk, we can see that the lowest ratio is the best/easiest way to get funded.
But still I have to admit that the time limit on FTMO is disadvantage in comparison with 5ers.

Once this has been explained, now we know that to pass challenge focus need to be on risk management. And Risk Management is topic that is not taught very often. There are many different ways how to structure position sizing to minimize risk and maximize potential profit. Many of these techniques are taught in professional trading and investment firms. Risking 1% per trade is for beginners. There are other much better ways how to design risk management.
If for example, you use 1% per trade risk management and your overall performance is at 0% then with more sophisticated risk management you could reach easily over 20% profit or even more but that depends on other aspects. What I'm trying to say is that with good risk management you can turn slightly losing or breakeven strategy into winning one.

In closing, I wish everyone favorable trading conditions during time when you decide to undergo challenge/verification with FTMO.

Bravo. You explained very good. I made the challenge and the Verification, and i can say, with FTMO is easier. Also because they are with you in any support. I have a question, they are online, i can talk with them in normal working hours. Other company will replay to your question in 2-3 days maybe.

May I know what is their operating hour for live chat? I noticed that most of the time they are offline.

I am in challenge phase now.

Between 10-14 gmt +1 for sure you can talk with them
Some days they are longer. But i have also skype id from them and also on email they replay fast.

NO!, on free trial you can leave a trade open during weekend on challenge and verification no. Check on their web

Yes you are allowed to keep trade open during weekend for challenge and verification, but not allowed for funded account.

I,ve been taking the free trial and challenge as if it was the funded account, just to avoid surpraises.
