Does anyone have any experience of mobile trading, on PDA's or other hand held devices? I just wondered if you could have MetaTrader set up on them? Just curious to know if anyone uses one, and what they think? Thanks

In the last week or two(?), Americantek replied to or posted a thread entitled "Get Chart Wireless" somewhere on the Forexfactory and discussed a Samsung i730 that can run MT4 mobile. Thats all I wrote down. Maybe do a search.

I got a Pocket PC last week and it workd great for trading. I use MT4 Mobile for charts and FOREXTrader.wireless for trading (my broker's mobile platform). Its worth buying one if you cannot always get to a computer

You can run Metatrader mobile on PocketPC devices.
There's many brokers around which support MT4, like FXDD and Interbank FX.
Both not good for news trading though.
You shouldn't trade news using your PDA anyway

It has a much higher resolution than a normal handheld and can run XP of course.

Being a lorry driver i spend 12hours per day in the cab. I spread-bet thru IG index and i use their software on my mobile, it works great. I recieve alerts thru the night and use it to place, edit and close. Its only for execution though so no charts, only live prices. Theres a screen shot on the spread-betting thread.

thanks guys - you've been a great help The Sony Vaio looks AMAZING - I'm going to investigate them a bit! Lyndon - I trade through IG too. How do you find them at newstimes? I've had some problems lately. TA ok, News - not!!

I find them a bit scary, if ive got stops set they execute but it can take up to about 5 mins for it to show on the screen. I only moved over to them two weeks ago from e*trade. E*Trade are better at news time but generally they are not suited to Forex because of trading desk times and increased spreads at night.

I dont trade the news to much because of the uncertanty (call it smoke and mirrors) i am more of a technical trader, im having quite a bit of success at spotting reversals at the moment!!!

Does anybody have experience with Java platform on PDA? Palm or PDA with windows mobiles operating system?

Especially Oanda FXTrade plataform.

I would like to buy PDA and check my charts and trades via it with my OANDA but I don't know anybody who has PDA to test it for me.

I was wondering about the Data rates for MT4 Mobile. Here in Canada the Pocket PC connection packages are sold by Amount of Data transfered per month. Any one have any stats on their usage? Is it 4MB or more per month, for a moderately active trader?

There is the same paying in Czech Rep. Vodafone charges me for the amout of transfered kBs inside certain bands and with certain maximum ceiling when the tarif becomes unlimited.

When I use MT on my PDA just for checking what's going on in the market then I eat only approximatel 20 kB. It is pretty good.

All what I do in such session is that I let MT to connect and read quotes, 1 or 2 charts and it usualy takes less than 5 minutes of life connection.

That is.

As far as i know that only mobile device that based on windows mobile OS can be used to trade. As for N81, it uses symbian OS. I am using HTC Touch which using Windows Mobile 6. It works smoothly eventhough u cannnot use customised indicators.

I am using northfinance as broker.

Not if they involve custom indicators... Only the basic ones that come with mt4 mobile..

I'm not trading with MT4 Brokers but I use a demo for mobile charting only in emergencies.

I connect the HP HX4700 via bluetooth to a cellular network.

ACM and FXsol (my live Brokers) offer Java based platforms which allow me to execute the trades on a Motorola A1200.

Here my take on THV, the charting options are poor but basicly I can see the trend
