{quote} Not anymore. In April the Australian parliament passed new legislation according to which companies providing services to clients outside of Australia could be breaking the law. Since then Australian brokers have been refunding non-Australian clients.

Oh man; am from Canada and the Aussie brokers were always the best in everything and especially with leverage options; I had stopped trading for a while now cause could not find a broker that fits my needs; since the Aussie brokers as what you had stated, well they stopped providing service to Canadian residents - Personally I like a leverage of 400:1 and above, am no newbie lol, that accepts or provides services to Canada but there's none now, the only ones here provide a leverage of 50:1 or 30:1 etc. Geez; if you know any please let me know, thanks.

Wow 5 others? Why's that, out of interest? Spreading risk or just different instruments and conditions?

You never know if a broker is good or bad tell you try them out. For example Axitrader offers good spreads on paper. However they are not the same spreads as they promised me and it can take 5 seconds to execute withs is terrible if you are a scalper like me.
I just open accounts and keep them open incase I decide to try them in the future.
I would say IC Markets easily the best then Pepperstone number 2.

any thoughts on pros and cons for IC Markets (or other brokers you have used) appreciated. Some things you look for in a broker might not matter to me / others and vice versa.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Hi Dab

Sorry missed your question. Setting up a demo account with any broker is free so why not set up 4 or 5 demos up and compare them at the same time. The sales pitch you get about good a broker having great speed and spreads isn’t actually correct. For example spreads can be double what they promise. Spread of execution can be lousy.
Overall, I like IC Markets and Pepperstone

I appreciate the suggestion, it's just that the cynic in me wonders about differences in operation between real and demo accounts.

You can’t tell who is good broker from a good demo chart but you can tell a broker is bad when even his demo chart lags with bad execution speed.
The bigger picture however isn’t good for traders.
Brokers use different servers to run clients live charts on and they all give different results.
For example I have run the same Algo on three different IC Markets live accounts and I have ended up with 3 different profit results. When I questioned the broker, they just told me it’s a server issue.

So you better be trading a strategy that has got a good edge or you stand no chance.

Very well said sir and very true indeed, brokers don't care about the quality of the signal as long as the client looses their trades and they benefit lol

I chose turnkey forex after referring from this thread only. The list is quite good, plus people keep updating it from time to time, that’s a bonus.
