the drop in stocks is putting pressure on u.s. bond rates to drop. But lets not forget, the same pressure should be applied to EZ bonds. Likely more pressure since German economy is turning down. Everything is comparable. U.S. economy atm is compably stronger. At some point this will change.. long term indicators are indicating. it will be a long time before this changes.

yeah, but a stampede to u.s. bonds could push it up above 1168..

It can be thought like this. someone selling his stocks may want to park his money into bonds. that demand forces the yields lower. weakening the currency. At the same a foreigner in the u.s. equity market may chose to bring his money home. converting to his home currency. or he may bring it to u.s. bond market pushing rates down, but increasing usd demand in the conversion from his home currency to usd. see all the variables?

point wise a shrinking interest rate doesn't necessarily mean the usd will weaken. In fact the usd gained after the 2008 financial crisis. It's all comparable.. German economy down much more comparably to u.s.

What a day! That US data was super green. Coupled with awful Euro data it just had to fall. Immediately I saw the US data I got heavy shorts in at 1214 with SL at 1.1230. Had lots of patients to see today so didn't check charts until few minutes ago. Closed half at 1173. Holding remaining half with SL already moved into one pip profit. It'd be great if price just collapsed from here to 1.11 where I'd like to book the remaining. Good day!
