another 20 days trading, probably, then some longer break in August, flying to Hungary.
i love trading, and am really passionate about, but it is important to periodically take a few days at least away from trading.
(just like in any other job, it is nice to take a break, too).
even though there is no paid holiday for private traders, the psychological benefit well worth it.
"trading is simple, but not easy!"

very little happening now.
part cos the summer is here, part cos for temporarily moved back to the countryside, and took a few days to set back up everything to trade.
currently at day#34.
but this means that the first half of the year ended up with 1 losing day, which i am very happy with as is.
more, trading overall is going good.
here and there some tricky sets, some also attributed to the slower market and my willingness to get in either a little too early or too heavily, or both.
something i will need to be careful about; also it is a somewhat reoccurring event when trading is going good.
maybe should name it as invincibility fallacy, or something alike. of course, i am not invincible, and often said it is harder to stay at the top than to get to the top.
but trading isnt static, part bcos the market, part bcos the trader...i cant much do about the market part, only accept and react; but i can try to work on myself to stay true to the basic idea that is true and proven, and try not to deviate much for whatever reasons.
a good way may be to fill some of the idle time with little side projects. for me that is either to talk to some traders, or to try to develop some softwares.
or maybe the dreaded backtesting, lol, i still dislike that, not even sure why.
but time to time it is necessary part of the trading, and when i have no way around anymore then i just do it.

i am not swing trading for a while now, when started on prop trading, eventually dropped it to focus only on short term trading, keeping the account from carrying overnight or over the weekend exposure.
but once in a while, some swing ideas are jumping at me still, as particularly strong.

currently in what seem to be a downtrend, clearing out a series of lows, both from 2019, and 2018.
on Daily charts, its RSI is particularly interesting, currently at just bellow 20...
in the past 9 years only the 3rd time it sinks so low...(and another +4 events were bellow 25)....and similar setups in the past resulted 500-1000 pips reversals.
mind you, there is no 100% sure recipe in trading, and past isnt always a straightforward way to current or future setups,
plus being a daily chart, the time horizon may be 2-6 weeks to get similar size return, if, and that is IF history repeats. ( often do!)
also, the negative swap rate doesnt support the trade, in additionally, which isnt necessary for a good swing trade, but it is a nice little bonus to any.
of course,
i dont have to say, i hope, this is not a trade recommendation, just some thoughts on a high probability swing setup as i see it.
being the daily TF, money management should be accordingly.

Hi Zoltan.

I'm spending some quality holiday time reading through your journal from the start.

It is starting to give me a much deeper insight into your processes and what you consider to be of great importance that you have already said to me many times.

I'm really looking forward to what the future will bring especially as the investment landscape continues to change.

neither i know if you are on the right track. some of the data missing for a better overview.

Well (pardon me for the "intrusion"), at least in hindsight, that kind of fast/extreme recovery obviously looks as of using some kind of "martingale" (maybe not doubling the lot size, but for sure increasing it by some factor).

There is no style disapprovement per se, as I see, simply a stat based ranking ( based on studies, and traders) where martingale or DCA ( dollar cost averaging) can carry more risk, if uncontrolled.

just when i think this week wont hold many surprises,
i found out that one of my newest prop account is upgraded to 4x larger.
strangely, not even an email to say it will change, or any other indication.
not really complaining, but since it is a 6-digit addition, one would think...
well, anyway,
this Tuesday just got a whole lot sweeter!
there is always, always another trade!!
One would expect some kind of notification if they make any change at all, not to mention such a huge change in the balance

my thought!
but i am happy with this change, nevertheless.
i know my goal starting with them was 500k+, preferable 1M+,
and now well on the way toward that goal...

cant repeat enough to drive home the important message, and lesson:
such opportunities DO exist out there!
and open to virtually anyone, with 6-12 months of solid track record ( fully verifiable)!

Hi Hayseed,

My point, what I keep on repeating....is...no need to go thru anything to be able to find some prop deals.
Take the last one have mentioned here...it was 6+ month track record they ask, verifiable by inv pass that all is as shown, and the basic measurement to be ok.
Nothing less.
But nothing more!!
No fees to pay, no demo to trade.

Of course, each and every deal usually comes with rules to stay within ( similar with slight variations) and usually a horizon to scale up size if play by their rule set.
My interest is to be able to grow.
When there is a 2.5% DD limit for the day, or 5% a month or be out, naturally want 6 or better 7 digit to make the effort worthwhile.

well today was a day with some heavy trading for us i did 3 sets on GCAD and some single entrys as well and 2 small ones on ECAD with a total of 4.5% for the day doubble of what the whole month has been so far....Zoltan beat me with over 5% on one of hes props,but i encountered also some heavy DD and got into some troubble, i opened bye mistake a 9 lot possision instead of 0.9 was someting with my panel,but got 3.5 pips in my favor and could close the set with a very nice profit...Even my Overall DD didnt pass much more than 5% 20 more pips againt me and would be doubble that if not even more(on 9 lot a lot more)...We had crazy 218% ADR today on GCAD and 197 pips from top to bottom..So i am glad i could close the sets between each one....This is not my tread and i am not to post here much just wanted to show what is possible when you are blessed as i am to trade with a exelent trader like Zoltan.

indeed, one crazy trading day, with the unscheduled "news" of Boris Johnson/Brexit...
a mixed trading, that left me not fully happy overall, even though all in all in the end the profit looks decent.
the day count?
today stands at #38...just one short of being at half point of the previous best.
still a long way to go.
probably another couple crazy trading days too.
despite the sleepy summer, things can happen. and they do.
George calls it a grinder.
i call it a f@cked up roller-coaster day.... when i think just nearing the top, it change over from the peak to a near free fall...again and again.
either way, it isnt fun.
unless the end of the day is green.
the pips are red...the W% is a mess today... the volume is large... the profit per lot isnt impressive... the time in trade longer than i care to sit still by the screen...
only the $$$....that is impressive.
one measurement vs all the rest.
not fully happy, as i said.
but i would not want any other way.
rather have positive $$$ measure than anything and everything else tip top, but to lose money.

it's a tilt day man. i can smell that tilt day all the way here.

what's your max on volume on day like today? continue trading till b/e? till profit? at some point you would have to let go of the session and swallow that hit. But i guess you pulled through

this is one of those days it will happen and sometimes back to back. if i was a prop firm, i consider that deviation no? at least deviation from the rest of the data set .
