Repeating the same number on profit is not possible because, it’s a decentralized market & there is nothing like obvious in Forex!

I do not believe what people say. Unfortunately, human beings have a tendency to "Lack of Candor" (that one is for James Comey!).

If a person wants you to believe what the say say about their returns tell them you are from Missouri, the show me state, and to show you verified proof with a real money account.

Most people don't have that though, so it's better to avoid the news.

avoiding news trading is not a solution permanently, its just a approach to avoid unfortunate risk and losses. when you have good fundamental data only that time you are able to trade during news.

I read outlandish reports that traders are making 1000% plus return on their portfolio. I trade live and manage (somehow) a weekly return of around 10 percent (sometimes even 15%) on my equity. Of course some weeks I don't spot a trade and sit the whole week without turning a dime, but that is rare. It's like pulling teeth to get that, even. Just curious how successful other live (real, actual!) traders average. I'm happy with my return rate, but maybe I'm missing something.

A weekly retun of 10% is insanely high. If you can manage risks nd your r/r ratio and profit factor with that number. (especially your DD) you are trading very very good. Most professional traders aim for +-1% a week with acceptable DD risk ofcourse..

{quote} Thanks, it's just bizarre to hear people say you'd have to be superman to make 5% a month. Look at the weekly return on the dow the last year. And "traders" here think someone making 5% a month in forex is full of shit.. Really??? You can't make 0.2% a day? Why waste your time trading? Go open a savings account. 30-40% a month is easily doable with many systems.

Show your results please. Whay nobody of "it is so easy" is revealing their results via trade explorers in their profiles?

Hello
So ... the last 2 years I have been trading every day and usually spend about 4 hours or more in front of a computer studying graphs and something new. I can say that the question was not asked correctly, at least because the market changes over time and the trader has to adapt to it and make changes to the strategy.

Speaking about myself for the last 6 months, I have something like a stable 7% per week on the binance cryptocurrency portfolio.
And from 15 to 40% a week in forex trading. But haha there are weeks when I get -10-20% and there are more than 100%.
I use 5% risk per trade, trading at high tf (H4+).
And not one merged account for the specified time.
Enough for a living. Not complaining.

Good luck and profit

its a good point " stable ratio".actually there is no one who can predict the real faction of this market with certainly , so its totally impossible to keep same profit ratio for all time. it depends on market ratio most of the time not for your trading knowledge and experience.

It's impossible to talk about stable return in trading. Has no sense at all. Generally speaking newbies are those one who get more attracted by the "X% at week" narrative. It's simple no sense, can't exist costant profits. Trading is like being entrepreneurs, there is no costant flow of income. Successful traders make their equity line grow in the long run managing the risk. This is all that matters.

I feel like I'm on a similar boat as you. The volatility in crypto isn't a good thing for me...haha. The fact that you get 15-40% but sometimes lose 10-20% seems okay if you get more then the other way. Personally I aim for a weekly goal of 10% and anything higher is a bonus, I also try to keep my lost at 5-10% nothing higher then this but we do have some moments where I'm chasing the swing ugh those nights....haha!

Sweet spot, with not too crazy leverage... seems to be at 100%/week... this are the weeks I prefer the most... Still relatively risky af but not so risky that a few trades can wipe you
Can you afford to take that chance?

10% is quite impossible for me. However, I try to achieve 5% of my capital inn week. Hope someday I can target for 10%.
