Not sure about lower drawdown? In your 1st image it's 6.97% and 10.34%. 2nd image it's 18.49% for both.

Just looking at maximal DD percentage, v1.51 is roughly one third of the maximal DD for v1.6. Relative DD is lower, too. Factoring in other stats, such as PF and TNP, it’s clear that v1.51 is safer and more profitable.

Ah I misread, I though you meant v1.61 has lower drawdown then v1.51.
Did you check BT before 2018?
I got a V curve which could mean heavy overfitting.

I was thinking the same thing. My gbpusd backtest did well in 2018, but lost in 2017. Eurusd made money both years. I need to test for the last five years. The EA needs to be robust - variable profitability is OK, but curve-fit performance won’t cut it.
Just a hint regarding backtesting. When doing a five-year backtest, it’s best to do it one year at a time. You want to make sure the EA is robust from one year to the next. Even though the EA might show overall profitability over a five-year test, you don’t want to be in the game, if it performs poorly during one or more years during the five-year period.
Guys, you will not trade in the past. You will trade in the future, so couple of months will be enough with recent data. Five years ago (and even one year ago) are very different periods than now. Market changes.

Thanks for this EA - but I have a problem getting it to work on my charts. Similar to the initial problem ChicagoRob had, and have been reading your exchange with him a kazillion times. Unfortunately neither of you specify which EA goes into which folder.

Have SmilyFaces on two charts - one with 1.5 and another with 1.51 - but neither does anything. These I understand to be trading-robots, so placed them in the MT4's Expert-folder.

Also downloaded the 1.0 directly from the Market website - while thinking you meant it to be an indicator to be in the Indicator-folder, with the 1.5 (or 1.51) in Expert-folder. Nothing happens - no MA's, no Arrows, and no orders.
- When I moved the 1.0 to the Expert-folder and opened it onto a third chart (with Specific Time = False) - it placed a Stop-Sell and Stop-Buy. And within a few minutes it added 5 or 6 similar orders within a few pips between them - with no entry-field available to limit the EA-(robot) to one order only.

HA! please explain what to place in which folder - like to a 5yr-old. At least I know how to copy-&-paste EA's and to refresh the Indicators in MT4.

So it won't immediately open order when the arrow appears? How does the pending order work? Somewhere inside the MA's?

Hi, You can filter sideways market with atr filter, just setting as ext var an atr level.

Are you sure you have the same settings? I just ran 4 different tests on both EAs, and results were the same when settings were also the same. Could you send us the full report html files so we could see where the difference lies? If you have changed the "percent_of_account" settings, this would be the reason for different results of course.

The indicator should be in the "MQL4>Indicators>Market" folder, which is the folder where the indicator is downloaded automatically when you download it from the market.
The Expert should be in "MQL4>Experts" folder.

Also, and most importantly, make sure you place both in the data folders of the same MT4
I`m trying to test the EA, but it dont enter in any buy and sell. The EA continue deleting the trades. Can you help me?

The EA places pending orders above and below the market price, and the distance is specified by the "Margin" parameter in the settings, while the expiration date of the orders is specified by the "expiration" parameter, expressed in number of bars. If no trades are being taken, try decreasing the Margin and/or increasing the expiration date.

The default settings for the EA are optimized for EURUSD M15, so there must be something wrong from your side. Upload a screenshot of your Journal.
