MT4 question...

When drawing a horizontal line or channel, is there any way to default the length of the lines to maybe just 20 bars or so from the point where you initially draw the line instead of the lines being drawn for the length of the entire chart?

Maybe that can be done with a OBJ_TREND instead of a OBJ_HLINE.

You could just try to draw a rectangle with height=1 and length=20 bars or whatever you want. It's under Insert-->Shapes-->Rectangle

Yes I came to this post to ask the same question. With Meta Trader 4 how do you draw short lines horizontally vertically and at an angle. Surely on this system there has got to be a way. Or is there a better format then Meta Trader 4.

The solution is to use OBJ_TREND and set OBJPROP_RAY to false.

you can use insert, line, and then you can draw horizontal, vertical, and trend line by angle. you can adjust the size to every scale you want simply by using the three points you have in drawing these lines.
