After doing further research and watching how the indicator behaves, it appears the repainting factor is more extreme than I anticipated & even though it may get the reversal area somewhat correct, if you're taking profit at the midline, price may not even touch that midline, therefore, your target won't be hit, but as the weeks go by the midline will move and it will then show that price hit it despite during live trading it was nowhere near.

Personally, I am not much a fan of indicators which repaint at such a rate and it has no place within my trading. None the less, I wish you all the best in progressing it and wish you all many pips!

@bishopdotun -- that was one of my protections for "newbies". I didn't realize you were such a big spender...

I will remove that limitation.

@R4M Would it be possible to have a BD indicator version with : Pop-up Alerts: False Push Alert : True Reason for this request is, that my bloody MT4 freezes when the pop-up alerts are being processed. Thanks PC {image}
Ignored
@pipcruiser -- yes -- I can make Alerts more configurable. And I want to get the Alerts issue working properly. Do you think the freezing is due to the number of charts you have open?

@jdva -- yes -- agreed. And money management options will gradually be incorporated into the trading EA.

@YoungET -- wait, not so fast.

There is nothing magical about the midline -- it is just some number. It's not the number that is important but, rather the logic. No doubt that after an extreme perturbation then price returns to a fair value -- the midline is our primitive way of representing fair value. Are you questioning whether price returns to an equilibrium after stretching to an extreme?

If you trade using D1 then repainting is not a factor because the strategy is based on ADR. The repainting you see when you back test is an artifact of graphing historical data. Yes -- as more recent data arrives then bands will shift -- but that's just the UI. When trading in real-time the signals are quite good. Repainting does not occur in real-time -- it is an artifact of charts being updated with more recent data. Also, repainting is not continuous -- it is not always repainting.

I've written numerous times that I am not a fan of repainting indicators -- however, since using the BD strategy at D1 I have softened that view.

Also, I will be incorporating a momentum filter which does NOT repaint. This might also mitigate repainting issues.

@YoungET -- think about it. I'm 3x your age. You're too young to be carving concepts in stone.

And, of course, whatever you decide it's been a pleasure having you share feedback. Thanks...

You need the filter for LTF. Unfortunately, no matter how much you filter, you can’t hold down price. As more ticks come in, the bands may shift. However, once it’s on a daily, the impact of the shift is limited.

I avoid LTF like a disease. Wait for daily to close and shoot the trade. Repeat that everyday for each signal. You will be glad you did.

On taking profit at the midline: You don’t have to wait. If price is crawling, take what you have and run. There are more opportunities to make bank my friend.

This week was awesome. Next week will be great.

Ciao.

@robots4me

Could you possibly amend the next dashboard EA with some options to put all of the currencies into multiple columns?

Unless I'm missing a shortcut key to scroll? I cant see all of them at my highest resolution, see pic.

Loving the work so far by the way, will also post trades after they close.

Thanks
B

@Brinet16 -- thanks for the good word.

Everything in life comes down to trade-offs -- there is not enough horizontal real estate. I plan on adding additional columns for other metrics.

The dashboard EA was intended as a glorified Alert -- i.e. at a single glance one could get an idea of which pairs to take a closer look at. Also, we've been talking about supporting 28 pairs (not 300). I think a typical chart might be able to accommodate up to 40 using my current layout.

You're not missing anything -- MT4 charts do not support vertical scrolling.

@alblive -- thanks for the report. Since this seems to be a reoccurring error I'll look into it more closely and hopefully have a fix in the next day or so. Just to be clear -- if it turns out to be a bug at my end it would be the first one ever -- trust me...

I'm updating R4M-BD-ADR-DashboardEA to include a momentum indicator -- actually, the same algorithm in R4M-MomentumFilter that is a combination of @Nih98's FX RSI indicator plus Stochastic Oscillator. The dashboard EA is not ready yet -- I want to test it a bit more. However, I thought I would share a few screen shots because I think it works really well.

In the screen shot above I've highlighted AUGSGD-D1 and EURAUD-D1. AUGSGD-D1 suggests a BD SELL signal, and a matching Bearish momentum. EURAUD-D1 suggests a BD BUY signal, and a matching Bullish momentum. So, let's take a closer look:

The chart above is AUDSGD-D1 and you can see the BD SELL signal and Bearish momentum match.

The chart above is EURADU-D1 and you can see the BD BUY signal and Bullish momentum match.

@spae11 -- could you please show the entire chart. What time frame are you using? If it is not D1 then I'm not interested.
