1. A "hidden divergence" has a very different meaning in Alanīs terminology. So one should be aware of it if one uses the common traders terms. Not much by the way of signals as yet. Two fairly good divs on the 1 min with the hook as the second entry.

Note how the hook trade often pays better and quicker than the div and the stop is always just below the div point.

This is another option people can specialise in.

Alan, when we're seeing a hook opportunity, when do we get in the trade? I mean, some hooks go deeper and some now. For example, in the above chart, the first hook went close to the previous low, whereas the second one reached only half way down. So, what should be the entry criteria?

Use a two bar test if you like or just take a punt but make sure it rises past the div push else you are on the wrong hook.

we are in a 20 pip range and try to get 40 pips in our books.
we learned how to get that bigger move if it occurs, but we are also able to survive and make profit on days like this.
I am 10% up today which could have been way better. Happy trader here.
Time to relax a bit now.

Is so choppy that I don't find any signal (perhaps no confidence hence couldn't see)

With the 2 hook entries, why would you say to yourself that this is a hook entry coming up as opposed to the abcd running down to it's targets. I would have been short both times with the 1hour bias under the 26ema. Is this just a pattern you have noticed that happens around the end of the 1 hour candle ending or are we looking at the 5m failure to make a LL, maybe both? TIA

Just three more pips and I am done for the week but I think I will wait till tomorrow.

I don't know if it makes a bit of sense. I used M1 too which is a pain for me. Sometimes I miss the clear signals (which Alan showed today) and sometimes I act on signals that do not work.
Important to mention is that I was short-biased as long as I saw the white charts M5 EMA making LH LL and therefore H1 EMA could not make a turn.
This was possibly not 100% textbook trading but you see I get there today.

No I don't love them. I am aware I am too much eager to get involved in the big moves. It would be far more relaxing if I would ride the waves up and down on days like this

To Jazz or Alan...when the market is ranging like this, do you pretty much just take your signals off the 1 minute chart and not necessarily wait for for a signal on a higher TF such as 5 or 15 minute?
