Disliked{quote} "the way we trade makes a difference" It makes a difference to the individual trader. It makes no difference to the market If you could see a market with beeps going on and off for every trade that is placed it would appear as random noiseIgnored
DislikedYes. I've done it outside of trading. But the trick with forex is getting a true 50/50 system Within acceptable deviation. Show me a robot that closely mimics the outcomes of a coin flip, and I'll show you the money management that will work.Ignored
Disliked{quote} The big NO still in place until you prove you can do it. I have done research in this area before; so I am not talking just for the sake of it. Let's explain why it won't work; - Say you have entered a random trade; and it was Long for the sake of it. - Market went against you, and you added legs to your position, martingale style - Market kept going against you, forever; i.e. EURUSD used to be 1.4, and now it is in 1.14; it never went back to that area again. this scenario can happen; and it will happen again and again. Random entries does...Ignored

For exits:
Outcome:
daily volume of 1000+ trades. Daily profit taking of atleast yy% of daily trade volume. Equity exit: zzz% of equity growth in a week. yy and zzz are also variable/random or any value of your choosing.

Disliked{quote} Here is a 21 year test undertaken by Jez Liberty on a portfolio of currencies and futures using a random entry condition of flipping a coin for short or long with a trailing stop condition and occasional re-balancing. Pretty good overall results. The system first “tosses a coin” to decide whether to go long or short the market. An initial stop is set below/above the entry price at a distance equal to a fixed multiple of the volatility measure. That entry-stop distance is used to calculate the position size, so that the risk per trade (amount...Ignored
Disliked{quote} I am curious if you have included the following in your research: Scenario: 28 pairs, generating over 250+ buy or sell signals every 60 seconds based on 6 entry-specific strategies. Random pick an entry signal out of x number of signals Random pick of Buy or Sell entry signals Random pick of pair within entry signal random pick of session within entry signal random pick of timeframes within entry signal For exits: Exit when trade goes in x times the trading costs in each trade Randomize the "x" based on time of day, session open/close, news...Ignored
DislikedDear trader do you think its possible to make profit with a 50% 50% win loss ratio 1:1 tp sl, so to speak random entry no indicator ? With the right money managent? I would like to start a discussion if such a system is possible to create? I will give some ideas and maybe you can add up some or correct me if you have experience if im wrong. Im tryna figure out, if a random entry with 1:1 tp sl is possible to be proven , to be working profitable. I did a backtes with random entry and i figured out the maximimum amount lost in row was 24 trades, in...Ignored
Disliked{quote} pardon me for asking, can the principle of holding and trailing be used for other entry method and actually make it profitable? for example a moving average cross of SMA 50 and SMA 5 (thats just some random setting) enter long when SMA 5 cross upward SMA 50 and hold + trail stop to SMA 50 until SMA 5 cross downward SMA 50 and vice versa for shortIgnored
Disliked{quote} Agree. Martingaling with the intent to recover losses from previous trades is for fools. Trading without giving any regard to the outcome of previous open or closed trade is acceptable in my book (atleast the way I decided to design my MP-MTF baskets so not a good idea to generalize on my part)Ignored
Disliked{quote} I guess I will just have to torture you and LDFX and alphadude forever then. My hacksaw, rusty nails and pliers are always nearby right next to the pairing knife and torch gun. Those are just names for my trading tools in case someone convoluted is thinking otherwise!Ignored

Disliked{quote} the emotional damage related to martingale is huge, especially during large and long drawdown period. imagine you have to live through it for months, not knowing if it will recover at BE or not, or if you are going to be wiped out and when. it is not worth it. better to trade a single position, neat and clean, and doesnt feel like it is going to kill you. add random trading to martingale and you got yourself a perfect long island.Ignored
