look at gbp .. upper profitable trades closed as the lower negative ones are. But equity remained the same or rose. while at the highs, it may go up and down testing it.. each time I was able to remove the lower trades. the longer it test highs like this, more are removed. Your account is your equity, not the trades remaining open. I closed the green trades and the red trades. Bringing my cost average higher. bringing my odds closer to my advantage. Your hedge is keeping additional money out of the trade. I know it sucks when forced to manage a bad one. It takes a lot of coffee sometimes.
