I tried on a different terminal and it works just fine. Must have been a var conflict with the old version.

Wonderful @mizi123!

Your first two rules are correct.

But it surprised me positively that you also formulated the third rule correctly!

For Risk/Reward you can use the distance for e.g. 1% risk.
If you take some trades and exit the trades to the "Butterflys", you can calculate yourself the rewards...

There is a technical program problem and I deleted the posted version.

I have programmed a secret code in indicator, so it works correctly only for users who post their comments in the thread.
Unfortunately, I exaggerated and it only works for me (see the picture in #Post 137), so I have to test everything.

If anyone has a moving average cross indicator set to open candle it would help to test this idea, point being i have not been able to source an open candle ma cross over .. just a shout out if poss the secret here is to not get around the repainting issue thats a common factor its being able to synch up the trade with some confidence instead of wondering will the signal move or disappear as it does, if the signals could stay where they appear then synching is poss whether they repaint or not. market rythmn as they say.

Hi SwingMan,

Thank you for being generous with your time and knowledge. I've applied v1.3 to a 5min chart but found that when the next bar ticks over there is a jump(kink) in the bands. Changing timeframes and back again resolves this, interestingly refreshing the chart does not.

Heres an example v2 did not give a buy signal but v3 did
can post chart in this moment but maybe v 3 is more responsive to signals?
i have two charts side by side on pound dollar v2 and v3. hope this helps

Use only 1.3.
I think if you restart 1.2, the signals will appear. That was a bug!

This is unfortunately repainting!

Thanks to @dean1star for pointing out Symphonie Autofresh.
I try to take over the technology from there, but it has not worked yet.

This works as intended now on all but the highest TF (W1 and MN). It can even be forward-tested in a simulator. There are still a few instruments that do not work on W1 or MN, but I don't detect the pattern of those that aren't working, sorry.

The key to trading such bands (repainters as they are) is to choose a TF that allows trades to be taken between two stationary (horizontal) band widths. A steeply sloping band is not offering usable info (apart from notifying us of the obvious fact that a trend has begun). Once the bands are angled more than 30/45/N degrees, zoom out and select a higher TF or increase the half-length so that they are once again relatively flat and expect price to reach or come very near to the other side of the flattest band edge. Then expect price to bounce periodically (cyclically in fact) between the top and bottom 'rungs'. I'm sure Parisboy can tell you much more.

I use a spreadsheet to record data on the mean averages of the periodicity (time) it takes for price to bounce between two bands of varying half-lengths. I then name these bands according to how long it has historically taken for a profitable trade to terminate and I trade ALL the flat bands that I can find taking as many trades (bounces) as my table indicates I should expect. Here is an example of one I'm working on now using a different indicator that operates on the same principle as Lazy Husky.
