Dear Fellow Oilers and Other Nice People,

Here's another way to have fun in FX:

Late last year, I noticed a broad USD movement going on, so I opened 7 USD pairs and made good gains on all of them. That led to my deciding to automate the process with fast entry, fast exit, and fast reversal, while also displaying the status for monitoring. So the Magnificent Seven EA app was developed (for MT4, still experimental).
I used it today to play the FOMC event. The first figure shows the positions opened at 2 minutes before 18:00 UTC, betting against the USD. The second shows all positions closed at 18:05 for a gain of 200 pips--an average of 28.6 pips per pair. Not bad for a 7-minute trade. Since it is still experimental, I traded the minimum positions.
I am uploading the app for those of you foolhardy enough to try it. If you do, please post your questions and comments--I will try to respond to all. Please check under the paper clip for updates. There are no guarantees or other assurances, so don't come crying if you screw up.
The 8 currencies are fixed as is the action for 7 pairs. The app is simple to use and rather obvious, but I will post some more information about using it, possibly this weekend.
This app is especially good for FOMC events, First Friday Fun, and follies by other central banks.

TC, so effectively, button no8 is the direction you choose, up or dn, you press accordingley what you expect the USD to do , this populates all pairs chosen, you let the EA do its thing from there, profit or stop out, D

Right. One click opens 7 positions. The TP or SL will close all positions--it only looks at the basket gain/loss. User can manually close with a single click on 'Close All'. Entry, exit, or reversal can be done in a matter of a few seconds.

Thanks for the EA but I have never used EA's, too old and stupid now I think.

I have tried to measure the "broad movement" of currencies but with little success

Actually, I don't use any other EA. I believe trading is really about the trader, while EAs are a crutch for most users. EAs mostly use indicators that are often more than a century old with little chance of outperforming a good trader.

I think a strong rejection from 57.72/58 is possible but quite bullish above 58 if it goes.
