We are about 6 weeks out from the meat of Q2 earnings season. This is when I start looking for cheap calendar or other time spread setups, to try to get into positions that might catch good moves off the ER's. With 6 weeks of time you can try legging in long and maybe get enough movement on one or even both of the legs to sell against those longs for risk reduction. Ideally, iv's are cratering and you can catch an uptick in iv's also so that your short legs retain or gain value.

I will show what I mean if I see something I like.....

with spoos down >1.5% I try a leg-in long call SPY 5/29 $285 for 65c...the old btfd....works til it don't

...market volatility keeps the iv's up so waiting for calm on this kind of setup.....still lotsa time.

filled for $1.25 yesterday....after today I am a bull....J Pow can cut rates and pop the spoos another 2-3% by the end of the week, could pay me >$2...I haven't spread on these yet though...

Rain maker in US Equities is not the monetary policy but US/China deal & macro deterioration

No US/China deal alone is direct ==> 272x ==> 262x in ES

Rate cuts (that will be guarantee if no deal) will only ensure a soft landing

....sure...bring back Howie Mandel & Deal or No Deal....that can play for years...been waiting waitng for China deal scraps...The Don throws out a bit now and then....dovish Fed perhaps now baked in and that means BTFD....wild card peaking from the deck with more menace is outright war in where else......I doubt it though really with China/Russia standing behind Iran even if only obliquely...soooooo....we slide into Summer doldrums. I'd guess now we grind up toward 3,000...because it's there. Q2 earnings coming but otherwise maybe time to work on my tan etc...

....wishful thinking on the dowside drop but I might get out without much loss Thurs-Fri if the calls go >$1.25, will need SPY to move over $295 Thursday

US elections are not so far away, China can wait one more year to sign a better deal, the stable genius has cornered himself
