Hey Steve and others,

Couple hours ago I saw profitfarmer posting a trade from today in George's thread and by coincidence, I took the exact same trade using your useless indicator MMdedective which draws tops and bottoms without having to do that manually. This indi absolutely amazes me and very very oftenly shows how the MM algo moves price to the exact pip. I'm still building a strategy around this indi keeping in mind the ADR for the selected pair. Will share more information soon whenever I can share a better opinion and put in 39000 more screen hours of course.

2 trades I took today (this is a live acc so no I don't cherry pick trades). Don't mind the TP, it's pretty random for now, still working on an exit strategy as entries are far more important.

My post had absolute zero intention to mock you, my reference to useless indicator and 39000 hours of screen time was merely to input some humor into my post because this business is already so boring most of the time.

Interesting that you bring up and I quote: " where that focus should concentrate is not the 'target line' but the why it is a target " It's something I've been wrapping my head around for a long time and still haven't figured it out yet, I'm leaning towards the Asian session ADR or overall daily range or maybe TMA could be helpful, time will tell.

Once again I had no intention to troll you or your post, it was full of wise words and wisdom that I appreciate that you share with this toxic community.

Hey guys -- it's all good. One guy doesn't need target levels and the other guy does.

Here's an idea -- why not learn from one another? Too often here at FF the information flows in only one direction. Would it really be so terrible to ask a question from time-to-time to better understand the other person's point of view or approach to trading?

Here's an observation -- the number of questions someone asks is a metric of wisdom. Too many dumb questions isn't good but, also, so is no questions. A wise person is always looking to learn -- always. If you're not asking questions and only talking at people then your personal knowledge base becomes stagnant. When was the last time you asked a question? And when I say 'you' I mean anyone reading this -- not the posters.

And, BTW, there is a difference between wisdom and intelligence, right? There are a lot of "intelligent" people here at FF, but not too many wise ones. (@Nih98 is the wisest).

EDIT: Just thought of something -- perhaps there should be a rule that before each post you must first ask a question. What do you think?

What you say is true -- but from time-to-time you can get a straight answer. So though it requires more work, I would say it's still worth asking questions and be prepared to read between the lines and parse the good from the bad. The alternative of never asking questions is worse -- because then you are guaranteed of not learning more. I guess it boils down to which is more important to you -- learning or not expending the time / energy to learn.

And please be clear -- I'm not advocating for 1000's of hours of screen time as a form of learning. What I mean is the reality here at FF (and the Internet) is there is a lot of BS. And each of us has to determine how much effort to expend in sifting the good from the bad. Personally -- I think it's worth it. And I am proof that it can work.

The discussion, if any, is NEVER, about the person rather it's focused on the merit and demerit of the specific topic from different viewpoints. Yet, there are tons of posts focused on hailing the prowess of the trader, literally worshipping the guru yours included. Do you fail to see this huge stumbling block that only serve selfish purposes sir ?

The OP is incapable of discussion, period.

For your info, you are dead wrong which is one of the reasons why I take the trouble to respond. He has barely scratched the surface, the complexities of the market is way larger than his imagination(and his crude "retracement with the square of time against price"). The real work behind the scenes of true professionals will blow your mind. I make this comment after critically evaluating the trades that you called and your masters trades that he posted. I won't make any further comments about this on a public forum.

TMA and ADR

Just wanted to share an observation. I am not making any claims or advocating where to Enter or Exit trades. But I am curious how others are using TMA and ADR.

I like using TMA and ADR. Nowadays I tend to always include them on a chart. In fact, a chart looks naked to me without @Nih98's TMA bands and an ADR someplace nearby. Alone neither indicator is sufficient, but they do complement one another well. The TMA provides a "context" of how price is moving in a bigger picture, and the ADR serves like a filter to help you figure out where you are in the trading day. Not to create a controversy -- which you know I always avoid -- I would choose ADR over TMA. That is, if I was allowed to use only one indicator I now think I would choose ADR.

The image above shows two screen shots using @Nih98's TMA bands and an ADR indicator. In the upper chart -- EURUSD/M15 -- you can see that the ADR approximately fits within the TMA bands. That is, the upper and lower TMA bands match approximately with the ADR's upper and lower range. In the lower chart -- EURUSD/H4 -- you can see that the TMA bands dwarf the ADR.

I will dance around from one time frame to another -- I appreciate how a higher time frame can act as a filter -- but since I'm lazy and my PC mouse gets tired running around the screen, then I'm always looking for ways to simplify how many charts to look at before opening a trade. In the past my preferred time frames have been M30 and H1, but now I'm spending more time with M15 and not worrying about comparing with higher or lower time frames. Since my trading now revolves around ADR and since the TMA fits within the ADR on M15 charts, then I'm experimenting to see if that combination is good enough to free me from having to check other time frames.

Again -- no claims. Just curious whether anyone sees the same thing or uses TMA and ADR differently.

Emm if you accept some advice from an amateur like me
Concentrate more on the risk you take and the exit plan. Average ranges are a good start but unfortunately the market does not care for lines and we can end up in big trouble trading reversals when she has a reason to climb/fall.

@3ndlessHope -- yes, money management is important. But we're not there yet. We're exploring Entries. Are you saying don't worry about Entries -- just press the BUY or SELL button anytime?

Yes -- since we don't have a crystal then the market can and will turn against us. But it's a probability game, right? With an edge then the probability of succeeding is greater. ADR is simply a tool that provides a clue -- and it seems to work well for Entries. Sometimes the clues help, sometimes they don't. But when ADR is combined with other tools the combined clues may provide the edge you're looking for.

One never knows until one tries, right? So -- before making general statements that invalidate the use of ADR perhaps do a little bit of experimenting and / or provide some evidence for why it has no use.

We cant pinpoint the best entries with laser accuary no matter what tools we use or what we lie to ourselves/others (i would not like to put names here.) so its logical to concentrate more on when and how you exit than entries. It worked for me and im not anything special, just an average person trading the futures market currently. Actually just pressing the buy and sell buttons on a demo account can help you with how you manage your trades. Managing(for me at least) is not just setting your SL. I think what helped me the most was that point when i realised that I can increase/decrease my risk. Yes, i had to realise and practice it, single positions never made any money for me. It might be different for others but nowadays i dont believe any bullss1t i read about succes stories because i have my own experience now and unfortunately i have wasted too much time testing stuff from gurus. They did not work for me and i hardly believe they work for the herd that claims it.

The exit plan part and ADR... i did not try to make general statement that invalidates the use of it but im not a native english speaker, sorry if you misunderstood me. I was trying to say something like that: ADR can be very useful, but dont trust it too much because if if the market runs and it will, you cant let it run against you too much thinking it will reverse because of adr or any magical line.

I might sound like a naysayer, but i am not one. Just sharing my thoughts.
