Ll1979 , yes I did . It is remarkable , especially even though the News and "everyone else is saying something" , which is normal. Particularly 4 HR Chart.

However , the BEST TRADING THREAD ON THE WEB , IMO , IS "PIVOT POINT TRADING" , run by a fantastic man named DAVIT.
Be forewarned , if you subscribe , if you ask 1 stupid question or "talk , like we chat on this thread" , HE WILL BAN YOU !!!!!
PIVOT POINT TRADING has changed my entire approach to trading. In addition , videos by a man named MARK DOUGLAS are available , but are sometimes hard to locate. I will post them later. Wall Street bought up all of his videos after he died because he looked at trading as psychological warfare within yourself. YOU ARE INDEED YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY WHEN IT COMES TO ALLOWING YOUR EMOTIONS TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOU !!!!!

It takes a TON of work to become a successful retail trader.

PA might be showing a reversal in deeply oversold territory (ellipse). Or maybe not--this is a choppy day.

Some wise words my friend you should visit more often over here.

As you already mentioned trading is going to war with yourself. Fear and greed are part of life and will go against human behavior. You have to train the mind and stick with your plan consistency and money management are key.

Most of my daemons are dead but still paying the price for 1 mistake earlier this year costing me a 10% drawdown.

Ll1979 , I used to make that mistake years ago. GAMBLING was what I was doing. The MOST SUCCESSFUL TRADER EVER , lost on approx.95% of his trades !!!! He became a BILLIONAIRE !!!!
Account Management and a Recovery plan are easy to implement when you have built it into your mindset.
Recently , I was in account drawdown for 1 month , the market went against me due to a TRUMP TWEET. However , because of account management I was able to stay in the trade despite being down over $1200 CDN , the market turned , and I added to positions and came out of that trade with a 15.9% gain for the month and NO LOSSES.
ANYONE who has an account and does not manage it in small increments , IS GOING TO GET STUNG SEVERELY , it's only a matter a time. I've been there. Entered a trade with too large a position to begin with.

Nice to hear that but what is your definition of gambling? Surviving your first real draw down is for most traders a mental turning point in their trading career.

GE, Speaking on my own behalf, I enjoy the thread, I can post, like I do, and there is no problem with the guys (well I presume) there is no foul language, we all respect each others views and compliment the efforts to post up views, I am self taught all the way from III, (interactive investor bought in to the offering) ) a long time ago, I knew nothing, but wanted to do this, no one helped then and no one helps me now, I've won and lost but the education along the way is all mine, I owe no one nothing so being the person I am, would not frequent other boards in the manner I do, my happiness to enjoy my experience is freely expressed here, and what a great way to do it, along with others of similar ilk.
It would look like gambling, but the very nature of what I do or a professional does, well we are both very close to a line, I may just be on the other side, but I can see the professional from where I am, this is not a rant nor a disrespect of your view, I like your interaction and would like to see more.
I seen the video you posted a while back, I have to watch it again, sometimes, and as you say, "a ton of work" in this arena makes you forget what you missed.

I think there are many reasons people trade.

I'm retired I play around the markets with a very small account and I trade small stakes.

I may be a gambler but this game really keeps my old brain ticking over.

As long as your sensible and play with money you can afford to lose you can widen your risk attitude and relax.

My grandson plays his xbox, I play the markets

It's fun and it's absolutely fascinating
