True, there are plenty of trusty unregulated brokers out there. And there's no guarantee that a regulated broker is totally trustworthy.

It depends mate; especially on the authority of regulation. So called regulation doesn’t mean much; but which brokers are regulated through authentic authorities; they are very committed.

I was on the same boat as you couple of months ago. I have done my research extensively.

These are the ones I would suggest:
Oanda
IG Markets
CMC Markets
Dukascopy

In my opinion IG Markets and Oanda are the most trustworthy.

broker regulation is a complicated issue for all time , once a time we all believe only regulated broker and think they dont cheat, but right now this concept not accurate.

I don't know that much, but I can definitely recommend someone with demo account and lowest minimum deposit so you will be free to pay all those way to success and that's it. Does it really sounds well ? We could go on and go on. Maybe Zulutrade ?!

generally new traders always looking for top rating brokers for trading , but their minimum deposit and spreads are not appropriate for beginners level , so choosing a right broker for newcomers always a difficult task.

I have positive results for brokers' ECN type plus VPS should be good if you use EAs. And also apply accounts through IB, get some rebate to compensate the commission cost.

Yes, VPS is very much useful for the traders who are making deal with trading EA and automatic trading software!
