Wasn't expecting much today, both UK&US markets closed, taken a little bite short out of the DOW, with no activity today there could be low sentiment still looming, worth a punt.
Still think WTI is due an upward one so staying out still and on the sidelines, well done D.

The price is bumping along a TL (Trend Line), hence my view, it's not over yet, maybe, D

In general Bank holidays normally have low volatility check the forexfactory calendar for more info. Any other news regarding US dollar, supply and demand will trigger volatility.

I'm thinking long over 59.36 if it goes but signals still a bit mixed

S&P long over 2827... bulls not looking to keen at the moment

WTI rallies 1% to regain $ 59 amid escalating US-Iran rift

  1. Supply threats and OPEC cuts offset US-China trade war and global growth concerns
  2. Oil to take cues from risk trends ahead of US weekly crude stockpiles data

WTI (futures on Comex) extends its recovery mode into a third straight day today and popped to regain the 59 handle briefly in the European trading amid mounting supply-side risks, as US-Iran tensions escalate.

Last hour, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Iran sees no prospect for negotiations with the US. His comments poured cold water on the US President Trump’s hopes of a US-Iran Summit in the coming months.

Further, the US sanctions on the Venezuelan oil exports also add to the expectations of a potential supply deficit and lend support to the corrective upside in the black gold.

More so, the recent comments by the Iraqi Oil Minister, supporting the case for the OPEC oil output cuts extension beyond June, also continues to help keep the buoyant tone intact around the prices.

However, it remains to be seen if the barrel of WTI can sustain its renewed upside momentum amid softer risks tones, fuelled by global economic slowdown concerns and ongoing US-China trade war fears. Also, the US weekly crude stockpiles data will offer fresh insights on the US supply-side scenario, which will have a significant impact on the prices in the week ahead.

Oil: Brent-WTI spread widening - TDS

Analysts at TD Securities note that the divergence theme across global energy markets continues to grow as the Brent-WTI spread widened to levels not seen since last June.

Key Quotes
“We suspect that structural constraints will continue to add pressure to the spread, which should continue to expand the widening theme. Brent's sharp backwardation contrasts firmly with WTI's contango, which lends further support to a Brent-WTI widener trade as carry works in favor of both legs.”
“In the near-term, however, we note that outsized refinery outages are likely to subside given the high incentive prices held by refineries. As for the recent crash in crude, we think that prices will stabilize from here as technicals, supply risks and OPEC discipline point to stability.”

Great chess Sponge, I got caught offside thinking there would be a fall, I did come out with a small loss but in higher now, think there could be a possible tumble to 24000 looking at the daily, but the intraday swings are and can be huge, hence my top rung approach (there's a joke in there) all speculative BTW, D great chess
