Minimum requirements: 2 year of tick data backtesting, profit factor higher than 2.2 and a risk reward ratio not less than 1:2

There is a simple way to download 99% tick data for free: Just visit the website eareview.net/trial and ask for a trial.

In the meantime you might download the 2.27 version [eareview.net/downloads].

As soon as you get the trial license, you can use the tick data for 2 weeks for free, going back to the year 2003.

Please be aware: The EA I uploaded is not optimized until now. Before backtesting, optimization process is needed to be done.

This is how the optimization with mt4 works:

In short words:
Only those lines, that are ticked will perform an optimization; with a Start, Step and Stop Value.
All others will just remain (act) as they are.

Downloading Tick Data Suite and installing doesn't take mich time, but backtesting and optimizing does.
Can we rely on to get something in return for our participation?!

I have tried various OOTB time frames and pairs and I get mostly Jaggered results.

Yes I know optimization is required, but firstly is it more than simply a signal below or above a MA ? (would you be able to elaborate a bit more on its function)
Secondly, do you have any set files you have tweaked that show profit over time?

Only reason I ask is that with a weeks free trial with the option to purchase and not much evidence that this will profit long term, for me, is a stretch of trust.

I have no doubt of your programming skills as I have and run the pipfinite EA...

Hi Damo12,

first of all thank you for your constructive post.

The EAs main signal is based on the distance-calculation between the close of recent candle and MA.
In a second step it looks for the trade prohability of next n candles.

Unfortunately I am not able to upload any set-files here, so I will tell you my optimization results in detail:

I only optimized the parameters Period CS, Candle sequence, Take Profit and Stop Loss.
I did not use MA Filters or Trailing Stop; so anything else than those 4 parameters is default [Trailing Start was always bigger than TP].


EUR/USD, dukascopy data with Tick Data Suite

1 hour, optimization period from 7.1 to 13.4.19

 

  1. 3 trades, pf 6.5, risk reward ratio 4-1 >> Period CS 40, Candle sequence 7, Take Profit 400, Stop Loss 120
  2. 4 trades, pf 3.1, rr 3-1 >> 38, 8, 380, 120
  3. 7 trades, pf 2.3, rr 19-1 >> 34, 6, 380, 20
  4. 8 trades, pf 5.1, rr 2-1 >> 14, 8, 120, 60
  5. 12 trades, pf 3.4, rr 3-1 >> 12, 8, 120, 40


15 minute, opt. period from 3.6-7.12.18

 

  1. 39 trades, pf 2.26, rr 2.3-1 >> 24, 8, 280, 120
  2. 38 trades, pf 2.0, rr 3.2-1 >> 26, 8, 400, 120


15 minute, opt. period from 3.9 - 2.3.19

 

  1. 22 trades, pf 2.05, rr 2-1 >> 48, 8, 240, 120

Yes, it is a challenge

Only thing that bothers me is the number of trades. As you see in the optimization, the higher the profit factor the fewer the trades...

That's okay, as long as it doesn't get too few...

I've been trying but cant Imorove on the above results.
The same test over 2 yrs...not as good

MAJOR UPDATE:

I have uploaded a totally new version. It is a different EA than the first one, but to keep it in line with the threads name it is called Anti-Disaster II.

I have uploaded the volatility indi. But the problem is that it repaints. I will try to add another vola indicator in future.

The minimal deposit ranges; best would be 500$ - 2k$.

I have also made some small labeling changes to the code in the EA & main Indi file, just for my own better understanding.
