a) too aggressive with stop chase

b) forgot to turn on 'Live' trading!

Good entry though! Really had to over-ride the desire to trade just for tradings sake. Absolutely got to wait for the prior Supply/Demand levels. Target should be trend continuance, thus many more ticks available, but hey ho... i will take that.

I definitely need time to a) get sharper and b) get more stamina. I'm kind of done already, but i know i need to last for an hours trading, no matter which hour i can make it.

I still haven't determined that yet. Open is 16:30 where i am and that's quite a difficult time to be available and in the right mind frame everyday. I swear that's an advantage for living in the States and trading any of the US markets. You become accustomed to trading after you've had breakfast and finished by 10:30 gives you the rest of the day to do whatever you want, whereas 16:30 kind of breaks your day up.

Regardless of the routine necessity, i always managed to log in at random times and succeed, so i doubt i will worry about that much!

I still keep an eye on the bigger picture (400 trades). Had to hang on for a mo, cos i identified this level earlier. It looks like a typical double bottom after the rapid drop earlier;

Over-rode the desire for a 123 to trigger and retrace and took a bit of a risk;

Again, despite there a likely C wave making a fresh high on the 400 trade chart (thus huge target), it's too difficult not to chase a fast move in your favour. I will take a +40 any day of the week;

Why the hell i didn't switch to Live, i do not know, but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day. This is at least, a start after a long time out...

Some system issues yesterday so bailed the session.

Today back with full focus, +30 with 6 trades. 3 wins, 2 BE and 1 small loss. if I had followed my rules the small loss would have been a BE and the small win would have hit target. Still learning but quite pleased with my progress lately now I've settled for trading a 450 volume NQ chart and a 20 second Russell chart. Less trades and win rate going up.

Thanks DD!) It's nice to be getting a little taster again!) Kind of wet's the appetite!)

First trade was just a stupid thing to do, i was aiming for a 4th wave and higher to follow, resulted in a fast -10 and a kick up the backside. That was old style and nothing to do with prior S/D zones;

Next one was a great entry, but auto +1 @ +8 kicked in and resulted in an out for +1. Re-entry with belief of the prior Demand being target as minimum;

and a nice fast drop for target without being stopped out during stop chase. 3 trades +21;

Was quiet around here friday. Friday ended up being my best day this week. So 4 green days and one small loss day this week. Over all good results. Have a good weekend.

Seems like Harold has disappeared. Not necessarily only from here, but it doesn't look like he's bothering with FF anymore. Bit of a shame, but to be fair, his good work has been done.

It appears there are a decent group of guys here who are achieving success with it, so that has to be some kind of legacy!

My work had also got me targeting the pullbacks of 123's as opposed to a considerable time i had spent previously using the triggers of point 2 as entry. That was similar to any type of crossover methods, entering you at a terrible position. Sure you might catch some runners, but often you would be risking more than you were gaining.

It simply never worked and as i say, i was already working on entering after trigger, but on a pullback just as Harold came onboard here.

My work has been more of a transition to the S/D method and trying to ditch my years of Elliot Wave knowledge. Don't get me wrong, it can be a powerful system and more to the point, together with fibonacci, you are merely following human emotion, but i tried every which way i could and never succeeded with it.

I always liked the scalping method and in my opinion, EW is best applied to longer term holds, particularly regarding stocks.

No, what we have here is the best and most successful method i've come across in 10/12 years of TA. There was also a prior 8 odd years of f*cking around losing money in every which way that was possible... sizeable amounts too.

Good to see everyone here and can't wait to see position sizes being ramped up. My position sizes have gone in the opposite trend over these years, reducing to little more than pocket money, but this development with Futures now offering Micro's has been the final piece of the challenge falling into place.

It's like swapping the attempts to scalp FX using UK based spreadbetters, to do the same but with the best platform available and on a market that actually likes to move! Let's face it, the NQ covers some serious ground!

I wonder if Harold will take a look in again sometime?!)

Apologies i've been gone for so long, but i think you all understand what i've been and what i am going through!

Good luck all)

Agree, it is a shame. He demonstrated very clearly the importance of consistency, discipline and the ability to follow through could make a success out of you. I never saw him write more than a couple of lines, which for someone with an attention span like mine is great!

I think someone on another thread may have got his back up, so I guess if you are a successful trader and somebody does that you either get out your handbag or walk. And he walked.

Personally, I wish him well whatever he is doing.

I think he had a certain type of sensitivity, similar to myself. There are thick skinned types on FF who only want to torment and mock others and when it becomes your turn on the receiving end, it's difficult to block it out.

Harold, after-all, just wanted some recognition. No different to most of us, but he is one of a very limited number of successful people on here and if he says it should be done this way or not that way etc, then he speaks with a massive amount of experience. That was (and is) the difficult thing to handle, when others pipe up and try to shoot him down, they are usually the idiots who think that they know better... they don't and i speak from my own experience!

I wanted success so badly, for so long that i expect that kind of stress gave me the glioblastoma that i possess now as a result. Interestingly, i'm not really bothered any longer. Yes, i suppose the Porsche Cayenne and detached mansion is still on the list somewhere, but somehow, health without this supposed 'death sentence' hanging over my head, is far more important.

I'm still young and to be honest, i reckon a year of trading successfully, would be long enough to increase position sizes so that it became meaningful. The following year would be about when it starts to become serious, (probably back on the Emini).

I know Harold very well. It's true to say he doesn't suffer fools gladly, but I can tell you he is one hell of a trader and has forgotten more than most will ever know. Always a shame when someone of that stature leaves the fold.

I expect he will come back at some stage. It's difficult to leave for good (although i can't remember the last time i ever bothered to login to that joke of a forum ADVFN!)

There's a far better crew here.

I knew H myself, many years before he joined in on this thread. We actually traded for the same hedge fund, albeit at different times. Of course, i hope he comes back here, but if not, i wish him all the very best in all aspects of life, health & family etc.
