This morning. Aust news releases. My position on the EURAUD was only filled 20 pips down the original position.

I want out. Anyone recommend any broker that doesn't have liquidity issue? I trade only news releases.

Have you checked out Global Prime?

Also, there is a whole forum just for broker discussion

You would really have to demo these yourself rather than believe random guys on the internet

I'm using IC Markets and they get slow even without news lately
It takes a lot for me to IGNORE you, but you can try.

Yes , I have had to completely erase news trading from my plan.

Slippage has gotten sick. -27, -15, -14, slippage during last month on news.

It didn't used to be this bad.

even the so called 'fixed spread' brokers have widened spread during news releases.
to top that, if you trade with a smaller minor cross, not a major, the spread at news could be pretty wide.
you may be lucky it was only 20 pips this time, could very well be 30 pip or more, not even broker specific, but a general case.

there is 3 ways around this:
- trade majors only with limit orders at news where the spread stays closer to 'normal'
- at news release wait a minute or so and enter with market order once the spread contracted back to normal or tolerable the least
- stop trading news
there is always, always another trade!!

My knowledge would suggest this is just a Reflection of availible liquidity, The slippage is, YES avoided by using guaranteed price instead of Guaranteed fill,

This is a desicion made by the retailer, and the broken cannot be held responsible for A retail traders bad desicion, Stop orders and Instant execution,

Limits and Stop Limits should be used, and regarding the Spread as the only factor left when limits are being used, this is a True reflection of Bid and Ask at present time, we all know News is Low liquidity and also an injection point, the more injection the further the spread causing volatility as a function of avalible liquidity.

But i have noticed increased spread, and this i believe is due to Less market participants nowadays during major news events compared to Prior, OR, larger injections eating up the Bids.

i will not know, neither do it care,

i will just stay away until it settles

Just started using IC market and I came across an odd situation trading USD/CAD today.

I went long on USD/CAD with a S/L at 1.34590.
Metatrader indicates price has hit my S/L to a low of 1.34566.
Did not get stopped out.
Checked tradingview for my charts and prices have yet to hit my S/L and lower.

Anyone knows roughly whats happened here? Confused if its price manipulation or etc.

Hedged on EURNZD. Order gets filled only after 30 pips. Slippage getting ridiculous. It's either they know or it's their way of minimizing losses trading against the clients.

I've changed to thinkforex aka thinkmarket. Worst slippage.

Testing FXprimus and pepperstone (alot of servers like IC market)

Technology should aid us but it seems speed is getting faster and orders are not getting filled.

I just had a vision. Retail traders are like remoras aka sucker fish. We can only eat scraps from the big shark. Either you go super long like trading the weekly or monthly or go super short like 5 mins.
