{quote} it is not too 'alive', though. most what there was to share is there in the journal, and once in a while there may be someone with a specific question, but there isnt many, really. being a full time trader is far from the glamour that most want to believe watching a couple fake youtube forex lifestyle videos. my car is the same, didnt change it, not many fancy purchases, eating good enough food, but 95% is home made, etc. one can probably assume that my trading is making money, without losing days for long, but i havent double or triple...

while i enjoy your photos and the story they tell,
myself dont want to change this journal thread into a lifestyle like blog.
if this shape or form it doesnt have interest, it can die off, or be sent to the bin.
during the year when i was actively updating this journal i was more attached to it, but once the project got completed, it means a lot less.
was/is a task done.

There may be no transactions today, I help me through GOOGLE translation and do some feedback:

I have seen a lot of journals after paying attention to FF for a while. When I saw Profitfarmer's journal, the title first attracted me. After I read the entire journal, I was attracted by his sincerity and his "ordinary". We all know that in the world of foreign exchange, 90% of us are "ordinary people", we all want to improve through transactions. our life. Before I saw this post, I was often attracted by high-yielding content, so that I was constantly looking for various "Holy Grail" from 13 years to 19 years. I changed countless strategies, no data indicators, and even self-learning programming. Sometimes excited, sometimes confused, and I will understand that, for a while, the general situation is in a very unusual and tormented period, often insomnia.

After I read this three times, I was a little excited. I tried to contact Profitfarmer to do some communication. After taking part of Profitfarmer, I did some practice. The following is the result of practice, although the time is not long, but I I am sure I have learned something and have done it. The following month of practice.

Through the journal reading and Profitfarmer exchange, the main experience is as follows:
1, "Ordinary" people such as Profitfarmer can also achieve trading for a living (not the kind of big money), I believe that most people can also achieve.
2, compound interest growth can also be achieved through small positions and risks that can be controlled.
3, the transaction needs to focus on energy and take it seriously.
4. Believe that what you think is impossible. (Before I saw this journal, I always thought that I needed to do the trend to be successful. I never thought that scalping and short-term can be profitable.)

Of course, I am very grateful to Profitfarmer for his selfless communication and help. He is a sincere person and has always been a polite one.

At the same time, in this month's practice, I also have some personal experiences as follows:
1. Any trading strategy is risky. To control our emotions and minimize retaliation, I have a large number of retaliation transactions on April 12th in a park. Exceeded the account risk.
2, once the transaction occurs, we have to concentrate, I used to put orders to sleep, although the results are good, but the risks are also present. I did a very good job on May 1st. I stared at 1 am, and the account number increased by more than 1.5%. The maximum floating risk was 2%.

Ok, first so much, have new ideas, I will come back to feedback, thank you Profitfarmer, thank you FF.

google translate can be more than a little funny,
but as it is often said, a picture may worth 1000 words;
and on that image there is no losing day for a over a month it seems!
good job!

keep risk low to equity, dont carry trades over weekend, and preferable not even overnight ( today's rollover from 1st MAY, was a good example, when one of my broker used the time to spike GJ 30 pips lower, the other to spike GA some 85 pips higher....neither spike was appearing on the other's chart, strangely enough! lol).
with some care, and dedications, good results can be achieved!
if one can do it, so can others, too!

thanks for the feedback!
happy trading!

78.
that is where the winning day streak has ended; after 78 winning day, the 79th was a losing day.
it happens, unfortunately.
now the counter is reset, but the work remains the same.
the new target number i will try to swing for is 80 trading days, or 5 and 1/2 calendar month.
will see.

happy weekend!

After the non-agricultural employment population was announced on May 3, the market went a little longer and unilaterally, and there was only some correction at the close, with almost no correction in the middle. This is a systemic risk, not a risk in operation and execution, and I believe that you have a good control of risk and all continue to stay green.

Hi pf,

I kind of feel bad asking you about psyquation and fixi
Prop trading funding. But I believe you are still the best person to ask ask you are still involve with them.

I currently 3 months with their program and has a score of 69. I know that they have 2 option. A score of 75 for 6 month record. And a score of 65 for 12 month record. Assume I reach the score of above 75 within 3 months. Can I just sit it out till the 6 months. Am I still qualify?
If I reach above 75 within 6 months and qualify. Can I have the option of maintaining above 65 instead of 75..?

Thanks

Hi Jinsen,

I am in no way a definite authority on this...just keep that in mind.
You could technically "sit out" next 3 months, trading sporadically, being careful to not drop the score.
Time/the account's age will add a positive factor to the score, may raise it slightly.
The score also has a heavy tilt toward the higher W%, what even more comes pronounced that benefit from small sizes ( low VAR%) too.
What that mean, can raise it by tiny size winning trades more that just having large profits.
Although overall total profit vs Max DD also a score factor, I am convinced it is less effect than the w%, as is.

12 months is very long time to go from 3...

Either scenario begs the question: will it worth the effort to trade for the score, vs your best possible own equity curve?
This one you need to do the math on.

Hope this helps.
Happy trading!

Withdrawal of equity not penalized, AFAIK, but for this sort of questions there is a support team to answer
All I know about this is personal experience, and as I said, not definitive.
What is sure that withdrawal as is, doesn't give bad impression.
Just think of HWM, and incentive fees. And that if the available funds matching is capped ( 50k max, if not changed), then why not look into a possible better use for what is over? ( Applies only if you have 10k own fund, and us matched by 50 already, of course).
Don't want to expand much on what may be better options, gave some explanation and examples in the past, all valid still.

IF your open drawdown is small size, AND thus won't trigger a recurring warning about VAR%, and if a position that isn't fall under the martingale or DCA warning...
Then I don't think it will have any real effect on score.
As I said, weighting seem to be heavier on the 'skill' score, and that by large benefit more on the W% ( in my experience!) then on measures like not carry open positions for long time.

just drop a small update.
May is nearing its end, and trading has not stopped,
the same boring it is as always.
the day counter is at 10.
not bad. far far from a good run still.
one day at a time, working toward a goal.

Hi Profitfarmer,

thanks for the update, and fingers crossed it carries on in the same direction: U-P to infinity and beyond :0)

May I momentarily hijack your trade, as I have an answer for Hilmy83 and his journal, but it seems that “little trading boys” like me can’t post on his thread, and can’t send him a direct message either (in both case, fair enough).
Either someone with a red flag (a “big boy”) can copy and paste to Hilmy83 thread, or Hilmy83 might come to read your thread Profitfarmer.

If none of the above happens, I would erase my post this week end none the less, to avoid poluting your thread Profitfarmer.
I hope it is OK, otherwise just send me a quick PM and I’ll erase the message straight away.
No question asked, no worries at all.

As it took a bit of time to write it, I would like to post it.
By the way, what I say in the message would be the same as for you profitfarmer and your journal, except obviously that you do not sounds completely bonkers compared to Hilmy83!!

Cheers,
J-F

<<<<<<<<<< Hilmy83,

Not sure what I think is important (I am sure of the reverse actually!!), but you are one of the very few here that sounds like the “real sh*t”.

The way you have done today, with just a reminder of yesterday, and the chart of today seems perfect to me.

The chart is very complete with clear entry / exit and even number of trades, ticks and PL of the day on the top corner.

Once a month, a recap of the month "calendar style" is perfect if we are too lazyyyy to do it on our own... (as you give your day trading every single day, we can make the effort to do the full month if we were not all lazy bast*rds!!).

All the rest, why you enter ect... is pretty personal, as this is one of the only thing that FF shows quite clearly: we all think completely differently anyway.

Personally I enjoy your journal and open it quite regularly, because it sounds “real”: the euphoria of the equity going up for days (in your face suckersssssssssssssss!!), and we see the arrival line within grasp, and then the fuc*in’ drawdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like for me, I bet it is not as enjoyable for anyone the draw down part...

Thus if you carry on it is cool, but if it’s too much hassle and you rightly stop losing your time doing your journal, then fair enough as well.

To conclude, like a lot of people here I imagine, we would really love seeing you becoming a leasing member of the CME after hopefully getting to that magical account size.
That would be seriously cool, and a big “cheers” to that on the day!!
And then after that, I am sure your very last post on FF before leaving for good would be one to remember... oh YES!!!!

You sounds really crazy and you know it!!
Not everyone is putting down the only pear tree (I think it was a pear tree!? I am to bl*ody lazy to double check!) in the garden because a "nasty" bird is singing (recorded and posted on youtube, nothing less!!!) from it at night!!! Clearly NO PRISONER in this house!!!!

Have a nice week end.
Cheers,
J-F >>>>>>>>>>
