I was making that point too. You miss the small pullback setups with the fast moving volume bars sometimes. In other words, smoother is not always better, bc you might miss a perfect small risk entry to jump in at.

Agreed thats why i am using time instead of volume or trades it just looks a little smoother

Now that you’ve said it, it is clear on the chart.
I see it, but I must have a screw missing somewhere as I didn’t see it at all this morning.

There are 2 things: the 123s (as an example, if trend was up, and possible turn: HH, HL, LH, LL) and the 2bs (if trend was up: HH, HL, HH, LL)
Doesn’t sound like rocket science on paper, but somehow it challenges me big time so far.

Chart below on how I now see the 2b from this morning (trade 2), with entry mid candle as it is big.
I wish I had seen it and taken it this morning...

Two other examples that I worked on from some of your charts.

Chart A:
it looks like there is actually another 2b on that chart (in the circle)

I might be completely wrong.

If it is a correct 2b, then the entry would have been at the open of the candle if not too big (it would have been filled for a win) or mid candle if the candle was too big (in that case there would have been no entry, but nothing we could do about that)



Chart B (from today’s session):
There are two 2bs, which I hope I understood by marking the HH HL HH LL.

The “second 2b” is clear to my brain (well I think so anyway).

On another hand, the first 2b here, is a bit more challenging to me, as the price actually goes up and down for a while before the break creating the LL.
It doesn’t feel as direct and clean.

My understanding (and I might be all wrong once more) is that there is just a bit of retrace but no HH (2b) HL LH LL (it would have been a 123s in that case and not a 2b), thus it is a HH (2b) then break direct to LL (thus that “first 2b” is a clear 2b as well).

Not sure if what I say for that first 2b of this chart B is clear ?
I guess I mean what would be a "pullback" (in my head a "pullback" is a 123s) before the break invalidating the 2b, and what is just price going "up and down" but not creating a "pullback" and thus not invalidating the 2bs.

No worries if my brain is not understandable.
In that case, no problem, just forget about it please and thanks again for your help and time that you have given in that thread.

You got the 2 b perfect again 123 in up trend HH HL not a HH down trend is LL LH not a lower low inside bars don't count there not part of the pattern

I sacrifice about 30% of my screen real estate to keep a 1M/3M visible (that I flip over to 512T once in a while to confirm something I am seeing, but mostly it is on 1M or 3M). I wanted to share this because today was a good example of why. I think it speaks for itself:

2 trades today (SIM):

T1: short on what I think is a 123s (HH HL LH LL). The price reacted well on the fill, but didn’t explode down except for a short time, and took me out at BE

T2: long on what I felt was a 123s back into the trend. Same as above, the price reacted well on the fill, but the explosion up was short lived and it took me out at BE.

As we discussed about it yesterday, there was what I think was a 2b at the bottom range of the session (see chart if interested). My entry order was mid candle, and the price just didn’t reach during the time when I was trading. An order at the top of the candle would have been filled (see Zen’s chart above, as I think he took that trade).

Divergence and everyone, what is good program for making videos of your computer screen. I think there are times like tonight where I’d much rather do a video explaining everything I want to say rather than writing it out. I’d like to get set up to do some video reviews if possible. Tonight’s blog post will have to wait until tomorrow, as I had other obligations to attend to this evening and I am too drained to write now. Thanks for your suggestions!

After reading your first couple posts on your blog, i wondered how long you would want to keep hammering it all out through a keyboard. I appreciate your indepth explanations but knew it was taking your valuable time. Video may simplify your process significantly . . .
