Various strategic moves are adopted by the forex traders so that they can handle market situations effectively and be able to earn money after facing all volatility and uncertainty. Hedging is considered as a risk management tool where a trader takes both position on a currency pair so that his net risk arising from the unwanted price fluctuations will be zero. I personally consider that hedging is somehow an aggressive risk management tool so I basically try to protect my wealth position via various pending orders like stop loss; trail stop or take profit.

I agree with most of what you say. However, we need to optimize Martingale. I studied it a lot, and hope to get positive result. One thing to do is to set tight SL for every reversed order. Also, I never increase the lot size sharply.

so far so good. now i am using daily tf for trading, means mostly only 1 or 2 new trades open.

Hi, I am having this multiplier lot sizing up to 24 trades in my EA under back testing, let me know who can also suggest better hedge lot size formula with $3,000 initial fund that can survived up to 30 hedge trades.

There is a chap on twitter who trades dax mainly. Seems to be a winner with hedging dax. I can't work how how he does it. He's posted it in detail so he says. Search for pipsrm or luckypete. If anyone can crack it let me know. I am working on a strategy at the moment for dax.

The way I've implemented this idea in an MT4 EA is by first deciding on the directional bias as evidenced by the alignment of prev D1 close, current D1, W1, and MN1 open ... if price action is aligning all on one side of these lines then I decide it's either a bearish market or a bullish market (I mean it's not perfect but it's as close to an educated guess as possible) ... once I have the directional bias for BUY I open a grid of pending BUY STOP and BUY LIMIT orders ... reversely once I have the directional bias for SELL I open a grid of pending SELL STOP and SELL LIMIT orders: this way all price swings still work WITH my directional bias!! ... there are no hard SLs or TPs ... the EA monitors the point value of the profit (not money because the EA increases lots with equity and I don't want to continually keep making $5 I'd rather keep making 50 points) ... lastly the lot sizes of the grid fan out on both sides with the largest being positioned the closest to the current Ask/Bid price ... this gives me the highest probability of quickly getting my 5 pips profit and closing ALL trades (active and pending) ... if the PA is still properly aligned with the D1, W1, MN1 open lines the EA opens a new grid and the process gets repeated over and over. If you have a smaller account (<10K) you can keep all position sizes the same (0.01) and only increase them much later when your equity grows ... this works on all Forex pairs however much better results can be seen on those pairs that start of the month in one direction and just keep going (strongly trending in one direction) ... but that is not too much an issue (just an observation) because with additional equity monitoring EA can cut off an overall loss at a specified % ... in any case it took me a long time to get all the kinks out and I am not ready to share the EA yet but for those who seek the light I just want to say that hedge trading on the SAME currency IS possible it's just not possible to do manually because humans are too slow and we need to sleep :-) But if you can program this logic in you'll be pleasantly surprised. My big breakthrough was using the open line for directional bias and using order types which 1) aligned with the directional bias and 2) worked with the price swings to quickly achieve the target profit.
