OK. You might well say that I was and I am too sensible. Dear fti gave me a good lesson on this aspect of my person!
if one decides to write on a social media, he has to take in account haters and smack talk.
Yes. Perfect.
But some of the insults and judgements I receveid and I'm receving, in public and private, are somewhat unbearable.
They burn and hurt.

I (often) exaggerate? Typical Italian! My fault and I apologize for that. It is in the Italian DNA.

This particular aspect of my character influences also my Trading performance.
fti makes me notice that Sunt Tzu said something on the issue.
As always... he was damned right.

Jedi's Code violation... LOL!

In his Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, Jesse Livermore very often makes references to Dickson G. Watts.
He was the president of the New York Cotton Exchange from 1878 to 1880.
Here it is - for the diligent, sensible (LOL) student - his list of ‘Essential Qualities of the Speculator’ .
Years (that’s a while back) have changed a lot of things, but the rules of speculation set forth by Mr. Watts are still very effective in today’s market.

His words... directly from 1880. As Livermore heard them.


1. Self-Reliance. A man must think for himself, must follow his own convictions.
George MacDonald says: “A man cannot have another man’s ideas any more than he can another man’s soul or another man’s body.”
Self-trust is the foundation of successful effort.

2. Judgment. That equipoise, that nice adjustment of the faculties one to the other, which is called good judgment, is an essential to the speculator.

3. Courage. That is, confidence to act on the decisions of the mind.
In speculation there is value in Mirabeau’s dictum: “Be bold, still be bold; always be bold.”

4. Prudence. The power of measuring the danger, together with a certain alertness and watchfulness, is very important.
There should be a balance of these two, Prudence and Courage;
Prudence in contemplation, Courage in execution.
Lord Bacon says: “In meditation all dangers should be seen; in execution one, unless very formidable.”
Connected with these qualities, properly an outgrowth of them, is a third, viz: promptness.
The mind convinced, the act should follow.
In the words of Macbeth; “Henceforth the very firstlings of my heart shall be the firstlings of my hand.”
Think, act, promptly.

5. Pliability. The ability to change an opinion, the power of revision.
“He who observes,” says Emerson, “and observes again, is always formidable.”

The qualifications named are necessary to the makeup of a speculator, but they must be in well-balanced combination.
A deficiency or an overplus of one quality will destroy the effectiveness of all.
The possession of such faculties, in a proper adjustment is, of course, uncommon.
In speculation, as in life, few succeed, many fail.

Yes. The Art of War is truely matter of Life or Death.
It requires preparation.

I have just read somewhere the classical thing that I can't understand.
Immediately the words of fti come to mind to refresh it.
Immediately I have light on my Path.

TAF #30454... - takes a lot be master of the universe, you know.
easier just be master of your own ship.
If its a small sampan, try not go fishing in deep waters.
In storms, no take gamble, flow with the tide.
Just because you have GPS, not makes it any safer be in deep blue.

PS: when in loss, beware "hedging".
Reality is best. When in rescues use brain, watch terrain.

But as I said I don't want to discuss this matter.

Why all this trading thing is so difficult?

To be successful you don't need to understand the whole big picture.
Trade your chosen TF calm and serene. But you must understand - in any way - its correct direction and then decide your tactics.

But if you want to understand the big picture and have bigger plans... you must know how to understand the big picture.
Now, these days on DAX, you need to go through the Classical Top/Down Analysis... absolutely. Not an easy task.

I have done it. My troops are ready to move. I'm ready to follow. If.. then.. otherwise/else.
