I'd recommend getting a naked EU chart, drawing obvious daily and hourly SR, trendlines, go to m15 and m5, see the formations that strike you. From there on out demo will be the tool of your expression. Chuck some self help in there too, relaxing as you say with family,...

No, I am not bi polar... To tell you the truth, I am a therapist in training... more likely to be dispensing the pills than taking them... Although, when I think about my colleagues... lol

Just that an 'intuition' has been calling me back to a bare chart...


Nearly 20 years in the workforce has called me back to school. Currently at Uni... But would rather be a full time trader.

As you say, a lot of it comes down to pure S&R... Billy Ray Valentine has a great thread and site that I was following for a while...

After this length of time though, I still consider myself a noob... like a moth, chasing the next brightest flame...

I have wondered, when does that stop? Does it stop when I run out of enthusiasm, or when I find something that fits me?

I like the idea that trading will be a tool of my own expression... Makes me feel all sixties-ish... Shame I missed that... Would have enjoyed it...

P.S. If I have breathed life back into this old thread, does that mean that the poor coot who I flamed before will know... Oh! The shame! lol

Haha I dunno. I also don't think there's much to SR or formations, they're all components of accumulation and time taking it's toll price movements....saying that some people I know trade renko very successfully..and the clean charts do appeal to me too and are something I wanna look into. Set that up on your mt4?

I think there are many ways for each traders to make money in these markets. Simple / complicated systems are all depends on the traders style of trading. Some don't use indicator (naked-trading) and some uses loads of indicators to make money, or even EA. Most essential is to follow your rules and discipline, in other word "Mastering" your trading skills is the key to get there.

the rules of success in Forex trading or others sector is very simple , but in practical situation it is quite difficult , the main challenge is keep practicing regularly , most of the time we fail to interest after passing sometimes above all when making losses. if we can sustain in here with great patience , there is a chance to get maximal result from here.

And how do you think guys, is it possible to make a profit relying on your intuition only? I mean, if you do not have enough of the knowledge, should you even start? I do not know any other way to put my hands on it to understand how it works.

If you trade entirely based on your intuition you're not trading, you're gambling. Do you know any gamblers that make a regular, consistent profit from gambling?

Very true. Anything worth doing needs no short cut. It is best that you employ whatever it takes to maximize your potential benefits. Forex is not easy, and neither is it impossible. Rather than sitting down and expecting miraculous doubling of your money, study hard, do your research and monitor the trends.

i think enough knowledge indicates powerful experience something which is different than general knowledge, by the way for ensuring profit traders we need minimum knowledge to acquire by learning , and for that reason two years must needed first of all.

i feel that , despite of having good knowledge and experience there is no way to bring good result if there is no regular practice.

Unfortunately, there is no short cut to success, especially where money is concerned, like here in forex trading. You can succeed by dubious means like price manipulation, but that is just short term success and you risk spending several years in prison for such a simple thing. Work your way up patiently

Going back to the original question - I really like Price Action. It's not ultra-profitable, but you can make your 10% per week if you are good at it. It's not much, but the risks are low too. I spend trading 1 hour in the morning and 1 in the evening, using delayed orders, leverage is 1:100. If I lose money, I add an additional hour to review my mistakes.

I also tried scalping. Maybe I didn't get it, but it sucked. I just can't stay stressed for hours and scalping is exactly that. And that was Lazy River - I can't even imagine what the faster strategies are like.
