Here is last nights HAS with fractal BO test that I added to the Basket Trader TS to try out.
I just turned on the EL this morning after I saw where the PA was at.
Will let it run now until the EL takes it out and will then wait until the new Asian starts tonight and start it back up.
The EL was at 100/50 so thats what I had to use without disturbing the DB settings.

I think I may have mentioned this before but when I download a new MT4 from my present Broker and I already have an MT4 running from this same Broker I delete the folder shown below from the new MT4 and copy the same folder from the old MT4 to the new MT4. This way I don't need to try and refresh the History which some times can be a problem. This is in your History folder.

Hi JustUncleL forgot to ask when you refer to BE SL do you mean Basket Equity Stop Loss?

Anyone else currently online perhaps clarify what BE SL is?

I'm thinking it refers to the SL at the bottom of the SL/0 column on the DB?

Hi Gene and fellow traders,

This is very interesting and I think worthy of some analysis whilst some of my trades are still open. If my understanding is correct your setup Gene, opened an All Pairs trading around Asia open last night(?)

By comparison I would like to share the attached as one example of HAS/Swing/Semafor No EL/TP Asia Open still running with @ 600 pips in the red. In fact all my setups which were successfully turning out profits for the past week daily, have hit their DB SL of 350 pips before closing just earlier today.

Per attached, just analysing the largest loss maker still running GBPCAD @ -160 pips; first of all I'm trying to work out 1) why the trade didn't close earlier 2) best method of preventing such a heavy DD in future and 3) trying to understand why there was a second Short generated @ 14:00 despite then current compound loss (if I am correct).

I think this is a great opportunity to understand how losses on days like today (for me at least) can be managed well so that profits still outrun losses in the long run.

Would be great to hear any feedback as I try to reverse engineer this particular set of events.

It took a short trade as the swing (red dot) and red down arrow were present at the same time. (The red arrow has since repainted and moved)

1) No earlier trade closure as the swing and semafor Long signals were not present at the same time to force an exit.
3) The second short was generated by the second short swing signal (red dot), which you are using as an add to trade selections.

Sorry Gene just to understand fully - didn't we have an inherent rule here which prevents a further short being generated by the second short swing signal if we were presently in the red?

Basket Equity TP and Basket Equity SL are ones next to the Equity Lock Buttons. The TP/SL columns refer to the ATR TP/SL of each pair.

Thanks for the tip. I was going to copy history from another terminal, but the history for the new Broker had "austd" suffix for the pair names, I did not have a direct match this time. I believe I have fixed it though with manual loading of the 1min history for each pair.

At the present time that only applies to baskets where you have more than one pair.

In the case you showed it was a new swing signal that created the add, in just about all cases a new swing signal will always have a negative P/L, so you would never get an add with a new swing because they usually happen when it goes into a range or creates a new higher or lower swing in the same direction as the original trade. I think you always want to add when a new swing triggers even if in a negative P/L as this is like cost averaging down, which you want, so when it does go your way these late swing adds can bring you out of a hole quicker, you can always turn this off.

Also the fractal add to trades most likely will not be taken when you are at a negative P/L as by the time they pop up and are broken you should be in a positive P/L. At the present time there is no stopping a fractal add if the P/L is negative as it usually doesn't happen, but in the next version I will add it in just in case it pops up once in a Blue Moon. LOL

Of course there are times when a fractal add is taken and you are positive P/L and then after a few good pips it hits the end of your run and you get taken out and the last Fractal Add could be very close as to positive or negative P/L, but that is something that can't be helped unless someone knows exactly when the run will end and if too close to a fractal add don't do the add, just part of the game.

A "BIG THANK YOU " to all those willing to contribute and share their results, too bad we can't get Washington to do the same. LOL

To everyone whose downloaded the software, "DON'T BE SHY", we are all here to learn, post your trials and tribulations with its usage.

Every post helps to shorten the learning curve for the new trader and may just save him a few bucks due to a busted account.

Yeah that's all part of the game. I was thinking of trialing the TS's auto ATR SL or the DB STR SL to prevent individual pairs blowing out. Can I ask does the TS auto-SL include the Add-to SL's as well?

The same thing happened on my Basket Trader All pairs yesterday, however, in my case I have a BE SL set to prevent large DD blowing out.

We cannot expect to have winning days all the time, there will be days where the Algo will make loses, we just need to know if the profits will out weigh the losses over the long term.
