It has improved my trading immensely. It includes a strategy tester (even though some claim it is not reliable), indicators, drawing tools, all for free. Plus, you can download past data from Alpari, which I couldn't get from my broker.

Bottom line,
It is cool.
It is free.
Enough said.

its a powerfull tool...
good for technical analyser..
money management also good...
but small download....
the highest i got bout 1.++ mb..

I just downloaded the MT4 to backtest my system, but I think I'll use it for trading as well

It depends on NOT the platform you are using, but brokerage you are using, and even not actually on him but on data feeds your broker is using....
So if your old broker uses the same data feed(ex: Reuters, etc) as your new MT4 broker, it will be exactly the same.
