Disliked{quote} Great stuff JustUncleL looking forward to consensus on the optimum daily number of pips and the best DB TP setting with one n done approachIgnored
Disliked{quote} It's not just the TP, but also where we want to set the DB SL. I would not want to go live without a DB SL to prevent extreme DD. My idea currently is the following ratios TP: 10 (or a Equity Lock 10/5), SL: 15 for Lot size 0.01. PS: Here is an example using those ratios - from yesterday's CORE5 after London open, I saw a good setup going with the main trend so I let it fire: {image} {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} Thanks of course but just to clarify our current goal in terms of a reasonable pip target to achieve seems to be 250 to 500 one n done supported by the most suitable SL and EL with or without parsing this to the broker (?)Ignored
Disliked{quote} My overall aim is to average 100pips per day after we taking into account loosing days. That should mean about 250-500pips on the good days I expect. With the latest version of Basket Trader TS, this aim appears achievable, only longer term testing on Demo or Live can say that it holds out. Also the original HAS TS v1 had always given pretty good results, so I'm retesting to see how it's holding up now.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Thanks any other thoughts following Gene's earlier recommendation on Send_SL_To_Broker & Send_TP_To_Broker would also be much appreciated. Perhaps further points for discussion; should we be concerned about brokers stop loss hunting and are the relatively high number of trades per day to achieve target viewed favourably by brokers (at least ECN ones)? CheersIgnored
DislikedThis week I am comparing the 3 level semafor to the swing to see if one is better than the other. I have been running them on H1 charts with the same settings and just letting them run, here are the settings I am using. The swing takes a few more trades then the semafor, so far the swing looks better. Running 24/5, set and forget, just one day so far. 1) Charts = H1 2) DB = D1 3) Look back or Window as I now call it now = 5 4) HAS = 1,1,1,1 Color change with Lock 5) Add To Trade = true, 1,5 6) Marty = true 7) Use opposite swing/semafor exit depending...Ignored
DislikedHere are last weeks stats for the Swing with HAS confirmation on the H1 with no stop loss just opposite swing signal as exit and add to trade. You could probably do better with better money management. Just trading the EUR and the GBP the profit would have been $1048.04. Would be nice to see others post their stats for the previous week for tests they are doing so we can eventually find the best TS settings. {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} I noticed that you have left the Maximum trades open to 28, won't this restrict the performance of the Add to option?Ignored
Disliked{quote} Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I always forget about it and it should be set higher to account for the add too trades. Nice to see the great testing going on, I really like the swing, just need to calm it down a bit. LOL So far this week my swing and HAS is BE = 266 and CPL = 547 at .1 lot but the DD is still more than I want it to be. 63 trades this week so far.Ignored
Disliked{quote} The DD can get big with the Add-too's, but I anticipate adding a DB SL to keep it from blowing out, just a bit hard to find an optimal setting. Another option is to just drop the lot size a bit to give Add-too trades room to move. On the basket test runs I just added the second slow HAS so that the swings will be traded only in direction of the main trend, I'm hoping this will keep the DD down a bit. Also I don't let the Basket's trade until I see how the day's chart looks, so I'm adding a bit of human filtering for them. However, I have...Ignored
DislikedFor what it's worth thought I would post some of the results I have had with the Basket Trader along with settings. I set this up around 10pm sunday night UK time on a 1 hour time frame (H1). I had to setup again yesterday because my system crashed however I have posted screen shot of my DB so far with settings. I have not set any SL or TP as such as I am relying on the swing to get me in and out of the trade (if that makes sense). Any comments from you uall on my settings would be appreciated as still relatively new to all this.{image}{image}{image}...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Fantastic thanks Scousetrader! So it seems our challenge is to find the best DB TP/SL/EL setup to catch those profits, perhaps using the one n done approach and being appreciative if we can just hold onto 100-200 of those PIPS per day consistently. CheersIgnored
DislikedAll, A question from me who doesn't understand everything about. the DB despite going through Eugene's videos. Can someone please explain the difference between the basket equity figure and the Cycle P/L figure on the DB. Using my attached screenshot as an example I have a Basket equity figure of $49.53 and a cycle p/l of $66.80 Also when you come out of a trade what is the bottom line figure you should be looking at i.e. how much profit or loss you have made on a trade.
