Oh ok, I suppose that is a judgment call as to whether you see it as a base or not. To me it’s not so my rules and analysis coincide with it not being one, yours however did. Nothing wrong in that.

Will I miss some trades - yes
Am I fine with that - yes
I cannot complain if I follow my own rules.

Sharing a trade I took last week and TP hit today:

USDJPY

Weekly:

High in the curve, testing SZ albeit non fresh.
Allowed to look for sells but need to wait for confirmation as zone is non-fresh.

Daily:

Price broke momentum line on daily and removed 2 DZs confirming sellers where in the markets, SZ created where shorts could be taken as highlighted.

4h:

Strong 4h SZ within D1 SZ where short was placed, non greedy TP at next 4h SZ within daily buying area on the D1.

Daily:
I have a nice DZ drawn on the daily as indicated by the arrow......

4h:
When I go down to the 4h, this is what I see. The circled area is the D1 DZ seen on the 4h:

My question is - where would you draw the supply zone in all of this mess (fresh/non-fresh), providing you can even draw one....or is there no 4h DZ in all that mess?

I was think something similar to that but just wasn’t sure as it was rather messy and not a clear base, it is a fresh zone but there is soo much trading in that area. Definitely will have wait for a confirmation if price reaches that daily DZ

Interesting to see your view of the S&D zones. One question though....you labelled a zone non-fresh....it was fresh before I took the trade. Why did you label it non-fresh? See my screenshot below:

Hi ykn4f,

What do your rules say?

Personally I would say TL #1 as my rules state I only use the highs/lows when drawing the momentum TL. Just because there is a long wick once in a while shouldn't mean I start messing with how I draw the TLs, if I miss trades then so be it.

I think you’re confusing freshness with original/authentic Diddyy.

Although point 1 is a reaction to point 2, it is still a fresh zone until it was tested at test 2 where I entered. Because it is a reaction to point 2 just means it’s not an original/authentic zone, but it is still a fresh zone.

So when price reached this zone, we were still in a downtrend as we could draw a down TL and price didn’t break the TL before coming back to the zone.
We can trade fresh zones in a trend (they don’t have to be original/authentic).

The confirmation was the daily breaking the upward momemntum TL and making a LL, creating a fresh SZ that I placed an order at on the 4h at a strong 4h SZ within this D1 SZ.

here with the USDJPY we have supply holding price above and creating new RBD associated supply zones with demand holding price below in a ranging market both are being respected. (note we do have downtrend happening right now according to our rules)
