Please,
Can anyone explain to me how long should it take a broker to deposit a money tranfer through bank wire? I transferred money and for more than two weeks, the money was not deposited into my trading account. No mails, no nothing from the broker as to why the money was not deposited.
Has anyone also experienced such thing with any broker? what do you think is wrong when such occur? do i still trust such a broker? Pls. I need your response.
Thanks

You need to call your bank and have them trace the transfer. Double check the account #'s you provided to the bank and then have them double check the form they typed. A few times my bank has left off the final account number (mine) and the transfer just sat in limbo.

The transfer might have to go something like this:
1) From your bank to broker's bank
2) Broker's bank to broker's acct.
3) Broker's account to your account.

That leaves a lot of opportunity for error.

Banks can be brutal bastards. They'll sit on your money as long as they possibly can, just so they can use and earn money on it. I doubt it's the broker, it's the bank. Call them asap and get them to track it down. With the lack of cash flowing around right now, I would imagine banks are taking longer than usual to transfer cash around, no matter who it belongs to.

Last time I funded an account my bank screwed it up ... after one week I started to ask questions and they finally admitted that they had transferred the money to the wrong account - it took some time to sort it out

I made a deposit to Oanda via bank wire on 16th Aug. The employee at RBC made a mistake that did not include the account number. After a week, Oanda said never receive the fund so i went to RBC. On 26th Aug, RBC made an amendment to correct the account number by contact JPmogan bank(the bank that Oanda uses). It is 1st Sept now, Oanda still did not receive the fund.

Does anyone have this experience?
Does anyone know how to will it take for the bank to progress after an amendment to correct the transfering information?

Thanks a lot..

Why not to use Liberty Reserve or Moneybookers? That's much faster than transferring money through your bank wire.

Usually from EU Bank to EU Bank is fastest. And accordingly form Non EU Bank to EU Bank or from EU bank to Non EU bank is slower (it could takes 5-7 business days). Additionally, you can always request from your bank to provide you a SWIFT document with payment details visible

According to my experience, bank wire usually take 2-3 working days. At times I even see bank wire funds transferred to my account within hours! I remembered transferring them 2pm on a Friday, and trading account activated on 6pm, same day.

Yea, I am asking the same question every time when I use wire Sometimes It is processed within few hours, sometimes within few days I think, it depends on the transaction conditions of the relevant banks. Actually, it may depend on the workload of the employees as well

It all depends on how many banks are involved through the funds transferring. If the broker’s bank has a contract with your local bank there aren’t any other banks in between and your withdrawal will be processed and transferred very quickly. But still ACATS would be the best option if it is available.

Liberty reserve is past now and moneybookers become skrill however ewalets are still more easy to get funds as compared to wire transfers which even takes more than week or more to get the funds arrive in bank.

SKRILL is fast way to withdrawal funds. But keep in mind that if you have deposited funds by either an online payment solution, or by both an online payment provider and by bank wire, the funds deposited via the online method will be processed first back to the originally used source, up to the total amount deposited through this method. Then any remaining funds will be returned by bank wire transfer. That’s how my broker does it.
