I will see a northward pullback of price action on GPUNZD to around the 1.86000 area as an opportunity to look for a sell trade. The area is former support zone broken down and congruent to the 61.2 Fib retracement zone of the recent downward swing from the monthly pivot area.

I remain bearish EURNZD. As can be seen in the attached D1 chart, price action on EURNZD has moved northward and is now advancing beyond the zone I earlier earmarked. There is no bearish setup yet. Much likely bulls will be exposing the monthly pivot (1.67427) or even the 32.8 Fib zone of the significant downward drop from 1.76080, which is around 1.68270.

While wishing you all God's blessings for greater success this year, notice that the USDCAD is due for a reversion to the mean even though the bulls are favoured for a further northward move. The pullback is likely to be to the 1.34890/1.34170 area. Thereafter, we may see a bullish turnaround.

Here's my take on the USDJPY as a short-term swing trader. Technically, we are likely to have a further southward move. But we need a breakout of the triangle on the monthly time frame for a sustainable directional move.

Here's my take on EURJPY, from a technical perspective.

The bullish move on the EURJPY market which kicked in two weeks ago is waning in momentum. On the weekly time frame, price action is inching towards a horizontal resistance around the 125.350 area but we may see bulls target the monthly pivot around 126.730.

Price action is in consolidation on the H4 time frame. But the short-term technical mode is still northward, although this may be corrective in nature. Technically, we may see a southward turnaround after a northward correction.

I am bearish EURJPY.

Here's a top-down technical perspective on USDJPY.

The weekly time frame, shows a USDJPY market in a consolidation mode, which is likely corrective; apparently the impulse is towards the south. From basic wave analysis, we are seeing a complex correction which will likely give way to a southward continuation.

On the H4 time frame, price action is heading northwards and apparently in a correction, from a technical point of view. A descending trendline (navy) is likely to be active as resistance. Also, we should be aware of the ascending trendline (red) from recent lows, which will have to be broken down by bears to sustain a southward momentum.

As a swing trader, I maintain a bearish outlook on USDJPY.

With the print of a bearish pinbar at a significant zone (a horizontal channel resistance) on the daily time frame, we may see a southward move of EURUSD before the end of the week.

I have just completed my weekly technical analysis involving the screening of the pairs on my watch list to select a few pairs that meet my trading criteria and system. Largely the markets are either ambivalent or lacking in directional momentum. Therefore, I am waiting out the early part of this week for directional clarity. Two pairs I will be watching are XAUUSD and GBPZNZD.

I am short-term bearish XAUUSD as price action on the daily time frame appears to be due for a corrective southward retracement.

Generally, I am bearish GBPNZD but will wait for the market to show clarity of its intent after Monday or Tuesday. A sell trading setup around the 1.91000 area will pique my interest.

See attached H4 chart, indicating a triangle pattern (black). A break below the triangle support on an H4 closing basis with a retest for a role flip of the triangle support is likely to give bears momentum for a southward move.

This analysis for the bearish trend can be correct, for these reasons :

Reasons for weakening the euro: (Because of the investor's fear)
1. The upcoming elections from different countries
2. Brexit
3. Economic downturn and bad economic data
4. trade war with US
5. ECB monetary policy

And The reason for strengthening the yen :
1. Demand in unsafe conditions (Because yen is a safe currency. like CHF and GOLD)

I may be wrong, but I believe a swing trader should have more pairs or items to trade than an intraday trader or scalper. While an intraday trader or scalper can get in and out of a market a few times in the day, a swing trader needs to watch the markets for a long while before deciding which ones to enter and stay in such markets far longer than an intraday trader or scalper. He or she may have to wait far longer to get a feasible trading opportunity that meets his/her criteria or strategy. As a swing trader, I currently have 12 Forex pairs (including XAUUSD) on my watch list. This week, I will start watching 10 additional pairs over the next few weeks before deciding which ones (about 3-5) to add to my current watch list.

Do you do a pre-market analysis? It is worthwhile for traders to do a pre-market analysis and develop a plan of action based on the analysis. For example, intraday traders may do a daily pre-market analysis. As a short-term swing trader, I do a weekly pre-market analysis. During the analysis, I scan the pairs on my watch list to see which pairs meet my criteria for possible trading during the week. I have just completed my weekly pre-market analysis and will look to trading the EURUSD southward during this week. The XAUUSD is another I will look to trade, but I am holding a bullish technical bias on it.
